  • my first ride

Guys I am not sure whether someone will believe me or not but as this post is all about when u first rode a proper geared bike so I posting here.
My first geared bike ride was on the winter vacation in december 2000 I had just given my class 8 boards exam.
I really wanted to learn to ride a bike and finally I convinced my dad we went to an open field and an uncle of mine taught me the basics of how to start and make the bike to move. I asked him to sit behind but he said it will make the bike heavy and difficult for u to make it going.
I was like trying to touch the ground and literally only the toe of my foot was touching the ground, just in one side .

It was a hero honda sleek repainted in red color bike. I sold my P220 recently have got my posting in banglore and now planning to buy a bullet. And also hoping that I will some guys from XBHP for real when I come to banglore. Till now I have been in touch with u guys just thorugh internet

On my friend's splendour, actually he taught me how to ride a geared two wheeler.
I hate being a pillion, iff the rider is senseless.

                • My first ride, or not!

We,The kids on the block, started out building mini bikes(must have been 13 or so).Even back then we were always going for more performance They were powered by old lawn mower motors.Someone had the idea that we could make a supercharger out of vacuum cleaner internals! And I lived to tell about it!We fixed the blower /vacuum section to the carb. The motor was pull start with a pully on the crank of about 3 inch dia.The shaft on the blower was about 1/4 inch dia. We used the drive belt from the vacuum to connect the two.Everything looked good,so we fired it up.Did I mention that we didn't think to put a kill switch on it.Talk about over blown. It started and went straight to the top in about 2 seconds! That thing blew up so fast,we didn't even have time to step back!
My first geared bike was a Triumph 200cc cub.It was in a garage fire around the corner.I bought it for next to nothing and spent many hours cleaning it and redoing the wiring.I could not get it to start by kicking it(spent hours trying)so I removed the front wheel and tied the forks to the back bumper of my father's car."Where there's a will, there's a way"Got going about 25mph and let the clutch out. That's when I found out why it was so cheap. When it finally started,it sounded like a jack hammer. The rod bearing was bad. That's when I realized that the garage fire was no accident. The guy that owned it was a real hot head and when he realized the he had blown the motor,he set it and the garage on fire to collect the insurance money.I still wonder when that Karma caught up with him.
                  But here I am,50 years later,still riding.

                    • First rode the Lambretta back when I was 13 or rather a day before I turned 13 and I had jumped off the scooter after I came to know that I couldn't turn the gear and couldn't reach the brakes. I went rolling and the scooter went into the roadside drain. A few bruises and a large cut on the leg had ruined the 13th birthday for me.
