I'm waiting for the new pulsar! The only bike within my reach! Also, principally because, it's the only one from an indigenous manufacturer.

Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

      Rides : Honda CB Twister(Feb 2011 - Present) | TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS(Sept 2012 - May 2016) | Honda CBR250R C-ABS Repsol(March 2017 - Present)

Lets not get into too much details of power.. its more speculation.. when we dont even know whether the bike will actully step on Indian soil.

Just made a quote out of this discussion - Misinformed is also informed!

My thinking is almost similar to ur terms, but I am more than sure that P375 is'nt gonna come as soon as Jan. It will surely be late 2013, or high probability of 2014.
On the other hand, the next launch from Pulsar stable should be the rumored P200 SS (somehow no one is taking about it)

I am a faired bike lover, but I had to contend myself with the NS, since i couldn't remain bike-less any further. And truly speaking, i am loving it, and actually there is a new born love for the naked bikes as well, after riding it.. But as a 2nd bike in the garage, i will surely go with a faired bike.
I liked the N300 very much, right from the day it came up on the net.. But i too guess that it will be over-priced compared to the competition. Was never a fan of Honda, and though the specs of Duke 390 is mind blowing, don't like it's design..
So, the next feasible option comes P375.. Hope, it doesn't arrive as a naked version!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( but my instinct says it will be another naked one)

Sure, let me give you an example.

            Honda CBR 250R - 25.3Ps/ 167kg (Kerb weight)

            KTM Duke 200 - 25Ps/ 136kg (Kerb Weight)

            Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS - 23.5Ps/ 145kg (kerb weight)

So the power to weight for these bikes is like this:-

            CBR - 151 Ps/ton; Duke - 184 Ps/ton; Pulsar - 162 Ps/ton.

So looking at these figures its easy to conclude the Duke is much faster than the other 2 and the Pulsar is considerably quicker than CBR too.

However below are the cumulative figures achieved by the bikes in the most scientific way of testing these machines by the best mags in the country using V Box DGPS equipment:-

            Acceleration:-

            0-60 km/h - CBR - 3.5 secs; Duke - 3.7 secs; Pulsar - 4.0 secs

            0-100 km/h - CBR - 8.9 secs; Duke - 9.3 secs; Pulsar - 10.9 secs

            Top Speed - CBR - 148 km/h; Duke - 133 km/h; Pulsar - 129 km/h

The above figures are average of Mags - Overdrive; Autocar and Bike India.

These are clear indications of superiority of the CBR in performance over the Duke and Pulsar.

When it comes to in gear times or roll ons in a particular gear, Duke has better times than CBR though by the same mags figures.

In the overall sense the CBR 250R stamps its authority as the best performing Indian built bike in the country today.

Its not just bikes, Ive observed this in Cars too, where the power to weight need not necessarily translate into the performance.

There are a lot of factors that determine the performance of a vehicle and power to weight is just 1 of them and its very laymanish to think of it as an ultimate factor according to me.

Hi mate, I have heard that there would not be a faired bike from Bajaj anytime soon. The SS was just a rumour which was dismissed by the Bajaj guys and they also mentioned they are not confident of having a fully faired bike as yet. This applies to the 375 as well. It will be a naked bike only. So no hopes for a faired bike.

I love faired bikes too. But we will have to wait for much longer for that.

As you have mentioned the Pulsar 375 is likely to release only in the last quarter of 2013.

That's good information. And it is also true that PWR is not the ultimate factor. PWR is a deciding factor. You will notice that the class of bikes you have compared is different. The build, purpose and areas of performance are different too. In that sense, if you make a comparison, you will notice the difference. PWR kicks in at performance level stages like braking, cornering, acceleration etc. Please do not discard it by saying it doesn't matter. For enthusiasts like us, it should make a difference.

Well, i just bought the NS this year, and my next bike is scheduled at about 2014.. Till, then i am happy to watch all the auto shows, to see who launches what..
Also I wud b happy if SS is not launched any time soon, otherwise I have to say "SourGrapes" having myself satisfied with the NS.

Yes it is official. Im sure the new 375 is a naked just like the 200 and will most likely be called Pulsar 375 NS.

Bajaj will not have a fully faired bike coming anytime soon. Their statement said that its not easy to equip a full fairing and make sure it works without any rattle or vibrations.

I completely agree because the Japs are masters in it and are experts in designing fully faired bikes from decades on different models now.
A full fairing needs more engineering and research for aerodynamism and vibration free performance and hence it is better for a bike to be a naked rather than having a rattler fairing...

ok, although none of the above three sites are trust-wothy (at least for me), but I believe in the logic, that Putting a fairing just on the frame of the naked bike, ain't gonna be it. lot of NS certainly have a weird rattling noise from the small fairing around the head-light console, and this proves that there must be some through R&D before coming up with a faired bike.

ANyways, leaving all the speculations aside, for me it's just a wait and watch till 2014..

Hmm, so nobody here likes cafe-racers eh?

Though I've voted on the Ninja as my most anticipated bike, it's the Continental GT that Royal Enfield showcased as an Auto Expo concept earlier this year that's parked in my heart...

No rear seat? Not comfy? Not practical? Who cares!... The Duke doesn't have a rear seat either! Atleast the RE is EXACTLY how cafe racers are supposed to be....

Though it was supposedly on RE's future plan for India post the Classic variations and that awkward TBird 500, there's been absolutely no news for a long time now....Skepticism has overtaken hope

Please, PLEASE build it Royal Enfield.....I'll be one of the 1st to book it if the production version stays true to that gorgeous concept
Wish they are secretly testing prototypes somewhere in TN as I write this....
