  • Preventing Petrol theft !

    Im sure this is a problem everyone has faced at some point or the other.
    I had put a petrol lock on my motorcycle, a TVS Victor GLX 125cc. Last night, someone broke open the lock and drained the tank !

    Seeing this kind of attitude towards motorcycles, Ive begun to worry about my bike's safety. Although I keep my bike inside, the only deterrent is a gate that can be opened from both ends.

    Any pointers or tips towards bike security would be much appreciated !

      Lock the gate .. the reason for most bike thefts is that the gate is left unlocked although the bike is locked. Very few ppl dare jump across a gate as there are easier targets elsewhere.

        Yes, I used to face this problem with my Classic 180. I got the fuel tap lock and it hasn't happened since then.. Get one, it's really useful.

          this used to be a problem in college campuses a decade ago in coimbatore ,tamilnadu.still? I remember I got a lock with my rx100 during 1997's and some local guy jailbreak that lock expert work !.also ,some arrogant ... does maalish of salt on engines during that time with those with petrol locks .(beware)

          but in our town and all ,no such problems.even with pay and park people.

              Go for fuel tap locks, or simply lock the gates during night!

                  understand your Concern.well my way MAY not be fool proof but has worked many a times. I had a Pulsar sometime back which had the remote locking with impact sensors too.
                  the sensor was set to the max, so once the remote locking is activated a mild touch would get the alarm ringing.
                  also, it MAY help in curbing down the BIKE theft.
                  I have a remote lock in my ZMA too from Autocops which incidently is not with any IMpact sensors...planning to get one with impact sensors too.

                        @cosgeo...It costs some 150 bucks..available everywhere!!
                        just inquired but actually its useless because the petrol thieves still steal petrol by opening the fuel tank-lid.

                          Petrol Theft

                          A friend of mine owns a P-180 and petrol is stolen from his bike almost every day, by cutting the pipe.. So I wanted to know if there's some way to protect the petrol in the bikes which you guys might be knowing and share with us.

                              Buy that fuel valve that comes with a lock . whenever leaving the bike one can lock it and petrol flow will be stopped so no fuel can be stolen from the rubber pipe .
