          Are they pulsars!!!!!!!nice mods there!!
          link type suspension,usd forks,
          wow!!
@hanx13, you said about changing your cdi,any performence gain,
cause pulsars cdi are already using timing advancer(but have limiter at 10500)...
whta are the max rpm u r getting......

              after market CDI.............
              how to explain it.................
but the point that u gain if u using CDI aftermarket:
              - the spark plugs on from the first RPM
              - we can set our own limiter
              - 2 spark plugs on same time --- get better ignition ---- absolutely gain performances

I owned this classic Pulsar 150 at some point. Its not mine now. Anyway, I did the upgrades and mods when I had this with me.

                  Mods:

                  1. Repaint
                  2. Upgradation to alloys
                  3. Upgradation of tyres to a bigger size
                  4. NOX Shocks
                  5. Shorter handle bars

is it possible to ship the CDI unit into india ?

and exactly what does it do ?

is it an ECU remap ?

I don't think there are official importers of such parts there as these performance parts are marketed at an low-level and is a local thing, and is'nt anything international like there are for superbikes. If you have to import such parts here either you need to get them yourself or ask someone to get it for you, and there is always the factor of tuning, because of the better fuel quality there the performance CDI may give a significant power increase, but the same thing cannot be guaranteed for our bikes here

the Pulsar's standard CDI using timing advancer @ half throttle by using TRICS. Once the throttle's passing the TRICS then the timing sent to retard. & @ more than 6000rpm, the right spark plug is dead... just one plug is sparking

changing my standard CDI into programmable one, i can freely adjust my timing in case of the weather, my weights, the track, etc.
So it can tweak some power from standard...

Just guessing, the standar CDI have the same timing for all variants, P180 ,P200, P150 (ug3).
It should have a different timing curve for each variant because the difference in the displacement capacity, exhaust port, intake port, carburettor jettings, gear ratios, etc.

So when i changed my CDI, the noisy sound around 4-5k rpm was gone too..
& gain some acceleration from 5000-8000rpm...

                        rev limiter @ 11000rpm
With 2nd gear, my bike can do 73 kmh
in 3rd gear it can do 96kmh
                        4th gear +/- 108kmh @ +/- 9500rpm ,,,,

i just can't test it to full throttle in 5th gear, because the traffic's so bad every day & no long road or highway...

i use CP350, from HERE or HERE.
                        just the cheaper one...LOL...

i wonder if i use the best grade...

Fantastic there mate! all this time i've been whining about the fact about my bike hitting a "wall" after 8-9K rpm, with this can i also shift power to a higher rev range? And how exactly do you programme the throttle maps?

yes you can, just replace the mainjet with higher number (1 or 2 step bigger) and adjust the timing @ hi rev...

but remember that powerband came from common part of the engine, intake port size, intake valve size & carburettor venturi size, exhaust, and mostly from crankshaft weight...

with that tuning we can shit power to higher rev range but not as much as race bike...

For standard Pulsar, it's not recommended to set greater rev limiter than 11.000rpm or the valves are floating & the piston hit the valves...

i program the map with Hyper Terminal, because my CDIs use an RS232 connector...

                            just like this...

i set the limiter @ 11.000rpm, after 11.000 i set the timing to 0, so the plug won't spark...
my CDI could handle rev until 25000rpm, but useless on my bike...

^^ Dude open a new thread and post all this info there, i'm sure this'll open up a whole new possibilities for people wanting more out of their Pulsars
