  • FZ 16 with a 250 cc engine !!!

    Guys,

Came across this interesting thread on team bhp by Lavs. Just thought of sharing.

Plonked in a copy of Honda MD21E used on AX-1 and NX250 in a brand new FZ16

    Specs - 250cc, 4 Valve, DOHC, Water Cooled, 6 Gear, 25ps, 21.5Nm.

All done with own hands. All systems, switches, indicators, interlocks functional in the bike.

Presently he is working on 6 Gear indicator display, Engine temperature and battery voltage display.

    Fazer250cc Approved!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Amazing work. The work is perfectly done, just like a brand new stock bike.

For a moment, I thought Yamaha is launching the 250 cc FZ.

          Source - Yamaha FZ16 with 250cc engine swap - Team-BHP.

          What's more surprising is...
          1. I couldn't understand how the engine mount points were adjusted to accomodate the 250CC engine
          2. Not sure how the engine was approved by RTO or was it skipped
          3. What mod had the exhaust undergone. It seemed to be FFE, but not sure how it was done with the stock look

Even after rigourus questions, I couldn't understand any of the above

All said, its a definite brilliant job.

Same thoughts Ken! Surprised to see the owner junking stock rubber for a ceat vertigo, I guess its 130/80-17 or something. Offroading intent?

we also had a guy in hyderabad who had an RD350 engine on an FZ --

This is what passion produces whereas majority of the junta lament about the fact that manufacturers donot launch such machines

                Kudos to the above effort

                      Absolutely brilliant!

1)Thank thy God for being alive.
2)Thou shalt respect one's own life and the live's of other road users.

7)Thou may lust after thy neighbour's bike specially if its of the R1 kind!
8)Thou shalt ride with 'ultra-most' care and caution when on Indian roads.
9)Thou shalt never leave the engine running at long traffic halts.

Had they (Yamaha) done it earlier it would have been Perfect! I always feel for the excellent styling of the FZs Yamaha should have come up with atleast a nice 250cc twin cylinder machine. Hope they come up with something like FZ - 25 soon!
