Latest Update:
Have run for 900kms after adding 20gm of boric acid in Shell 20W40 Mineral. Results are good if not overwhelming.After the sidegapped plug and Boric Acid in oil the bike ran for 875 kms in 1600rs petrol. Thats a FE close to 39
.And I ve run most of the time in 3 digits 
. Earlier in that kind of ride I used to get 35-36 only.
But not sure what exactly improved the milege.____________________________

1500 kms completed and nothing bad to report... got a mileage of 36 with pillion, less than expected, but again, riding on a puncture with pillion - what else could I expect?
Will recheck once I get the puncture fixed.

Guys I had only done 1700kms on my FZ's odo, gone through many of the posts wanna know whats the exact ratio of boric powder & Engine oil?...can I mix it with mineral oil, or the oil should only be SS or FS?....and finally what does it exactly does to the engine ..I mean that the inner walls of the engine?
Still a bit confused...wanna give it a try after 5000kms on the odoComment

Almost 2500 kms done with the treatment and still going strong.
The engine note still sounds pretty sweet and feels pretty smooth.
Haven't had a chance to really check the average since the last time because the top ups have been pretty irregular.
However, the last time I filled up the tank, the bike returned a mileage of 36 odd again - city/highway with pillion for about 300 kms and solo, offroading, highway for about 200 (got 555 for 15.41).
So all in all, still very much satisfied overall.

Kinetic Honda update
Guys, used this solution on my kinetic honda to postpone re-boring..
Now its little more than 4800 km used with this solution. Smoothness is really awesome, but it can only be gauged after riding another kinetic. guess I'm used to this now.
Of late its having problems with cold starts now (not caused by boric acid but age of the scoot)
getting it re-bored tomorrow.Comment

220 update
Almost 4000 kms done and the engine still sounds smooth
Oil level hasn't gone down and quality is still pretty good.
Mileage is still around the 35-36 mark (haven't been able to get a constant reading)
Still completely satisfied

yesterday, finally i added boric powder to my engine oil. fingures crossed......
but i m pretty confident that it will work

Haven't noticed any adverse effects.... going to get the oil checked today and maybe change it... bike still sounds pretty smooth
