  • Things you lost while touring/ riding

I'm sure most of us have lost/ forgotten behind things while touring on our motorcycles, or doing those daily commutes to college/office.

    Here's my contribution:
A couple of days back, I ventured out on my bike to a friend's place some 15 Km away, only to return home to find the rear number plate missing!
It either fell off on the way due to loose screws, or someone flicked it (I wonder why someone would flick a number plate though ).

Lets share such instances here (please don't include instances of getting mugged/robbed, as I think there's a dedicated thread for that).

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

@Tibby: Your case doesn't look like a typical 'lost' case, its more like a wardrobe malfunction

i've lost lot of towels, toothpastes, toothbrushes on my trips.

      Nice one...
Apart from forgetting my toothbrush in a hotel, i don't seems to remember missing or loosing anything else.

Me too haven't lost anything yet on a trip. Wifey tried many times to loose the tripod which she has to carry as a passanger rule, but each times a few kms ahead and I'd notice the absense of it and turn back to get it.

            Thanks for the approval bro!
Yeah, kinda wardrobe malfunction. I have already made up for the embarassment caused to the bike though (got a new & nicer number plate done ).

Guys, you can also contribute things like having lost your virginity, sanity, etc while touring!!

Ah a diff topic....I have lost quite a few....I often do solo trips around...

              1. My Fog lights in my Lightning 535, people had broke the part and taken it (Now made a custom rod and created a proper system, but somebody can still flick it if they had a 11/13 spanner)
              2. On the lightning Speedo, there would be a Flap with only E in it, somebody had flicked it off.
              3. Bungee rope / Net - 1 set lost.
              4. RVM on my YBX
              5. One of my mobile phones (not sure if I had dropped it or somebody flicked it)
Never Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.

              Cheers

                    LOL... interesting thread.
I've to buy a new toothbrush after 3-4 tours. Thats a given, and I've now got used to it. (So now I have two of them, one at home, one kept in the touring bag - so that I dont have to go on without brushing once I'm back home ). Next high on the list is towel. After that - bathing soap. I only use Lifebouy. So I always carry one. Many a times, I've left it to dry in the bathroom and then forget to pick it up. On a bangalore trip, someone flicked a brand new shirt - which was left out to dry after its first wash. And on my last ride, I lost a balaclava.

interesting thread.... lets see.. first the left horn on my T-bird.. and after a few mins the right one.. And then it happened again after a couple of months.. ( the mounting brackets are really prone to cracking under vibration )...

A backpack that i used to hang on the side of the bike.. containing all the bike documents, my license and two cell phones...

                            After that.. nothing really..
