  • Thanks for the report Utkarsh.

Joel, thats the catch. There is no doubt about the product and your after sales support. It has always been the reliability of the mechanic doing the build. Getting the work done directly from your facility would be the icing on the cake.

BTW completed 9000 kms+ on the FFE and it still scares the crap outta everyone and i am still being frowned upon by my apartment folks every morning . I am riding harder than before and havent noticed any drop in FE like on the stock setup. Ridden sanely, the FFE has only improved the overall efficiency along with a strong mid range.
    Keep up the good work.
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

Like I've always said, the RTR has a very robust engine and the mods that I sent you will work flawless and all you need is a good mech to do a clean install. They are fool proof and bullet proof in terms of reliability. We have members who have clocked over 35k kms on the RTR bigbore and going strong.
One of our bangalroe members, has completed nearly 40000kms with his 170cc RTR FI which was done back in 2009 and runs flawless till date with insane FE. Runs my headwork and bigbore only. Satyen poojary is another member who has clocked over 25k kms and many more. Its the perfect balance of power and reliability.
Good luck with your ride and have fun.
Welcum. And yes the above lines say it all, i wanted all this right from day 1.Thnxx a lot bro, best of luck.

      • 9000+ km and still smiling

Its been exactly 10900km till date (not a big figure)am loving my 220 everyday.Mine is the first lot with the db killer. The engine revs more freely than with the stock exhaust. What i noticed is the pull from midrange to top end has improved a lot.Remove the db killer and it scares every living soul.Didnt calculate the FE but i feel it has improved marginally.

@joel-the moment i let go of the throttle theres a continuous rythmic backfiring from the exhaust(sounds like a WRC car),what could be the reason? Is the 220 big bore ready?

Bikes running lean, reasons could be many, so its better if joel explains.

            • Its not really lean, as the stock jetting can compensate for the exhaust anyways. It mostly the afterburn when you shut the throttle.
On WRC cars, the afterburn causes the backfire at lift-off.
Fuelling is just perfect with the stock jet on the P220.

Strangely, now that my bike has covered 5,000 kms, the backfiring has disappeared as also the fuling problem that was so prominent between 3,500 - 4,000 rpm (with stock ECU). The only variable that I can think of is the carbon build up, everything else is same.

I guess, this thing also happens when the glass wool of the exhaust is fried.

Yes very well said by the genius. Where joel bhai is there, we don't have to worry. i have a long story with joelbhai but cannot write much so writing short.
I waited for six long months. First bigbore kit was damaged due to poor quality of packing and naturally by mis handling by the courier service. Joelbhai checked the pictures and asked me to send the courier back to him. He replaced the damage block. After getting the replaced one There was again some problem in the sleeve. Passed some pictures to joelbhai and he suggested to do minor honing. Went to the shop with my mechanic and guy did the perfect work. Now mechanic started the operation and he took his own time. Got the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ! Got the bigbore kit installed today. My god! just cant believe with the performance of my karizma. I have no words to describe, Infact i am speech less. Its much smooth now than before. No vibration. Did the test ride. Its unbelievable. I also tried driving in 5th gear with very slow speed just to test, found no knocking and it goes very smooth. Not driven in speed yet but Within a flash it is reaching 80 kmph. Guys Any one who is interested for the bigbore kit should go for it without hesitation. Its really a magic. You will feel completely different. joelbhai, i want to request you to do the packing in such a way that even if the courier guy throws the parcel, there should not be any damage inside. I want to specially Thank you. Without you it was not possible. My bike was incomplete without your invention. I wish you good luck for the future. Hope to see you in future.

                            • finally will be modding my Fz-16

                              Hi all,

just started with upgrading my bike. Going ahead with the big bore and re-worked head. expecting the parts to arrive by the new year.

For those who cannot ship their bore and heads to Joel, he does provide new re-worked head and bore for a minimal charge. definitely worth considering if one uses their bike daily and cant afford a downtime.

next would be improved cams, air filter, new CDI?, exhaust as time and money permit. will share with you guys the pics and details soon.

thank you all for sharing your experiences and in helping me make up my mind.

                              Thanks !
