  • Longest distance travelled in a day on a 100cc in India?

    Hi all,
Recently I did a 603kms (Bangalore - Harihar) trip in a single day (plz see my album for more details) I could not go beyond that as I had some office work and had to return the same day.

I want to know from all bikers here what is the longest distance travelled by you on a bike(especially on a 100cc)? Is there any guiness world record for the same?

    Thanks in advance

OK.. You forgot a very large segment of 100cc bikes which can do much greater speeds than the ones currently sold in the country... The 2-Strokers.. So, this, I guess is the longest anyone has been on an 100cc in India.

I used to ride a lot on my HH Passion... but back then it was on Pappas fund, so could never sneak out and do 'long' distance rides.... (PS anything short of 500KMs is NOT long distance :P )

As far as records are concerned, there used to be a member vivek100cc on this forum... who has toured extensively on his CT100. The last I know of this guy is that he met with an accident... sadly no news of him since then. I hope\pray that he is still able and riding. Find his profile here

Then there is this member from Hyderabad (Moed I think) who rides a Platina! So there are these guys!

I know of another guy (and I keep mentioning him) from my child hood memories.... He toured from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on his M80 with his WIFE!

Edit: Still think motorcycling in its purest form needs a record or something?

                  Queries

I wanted to know from Yamaha rx-100 owners or riders,
(all these questions are pertaining to long distance riding)
                  How as the bike maintained?
What was the average speed & top speed ?
After how many kms they used to take break and for how much time?
                  Any engine overheating issues?
Any special engine modification done for the long tours?
Anything else in special which is not mentioned over here and would like to share, it would be really helpful

I have done only 100 kms once and that too one way from mumbai to lonavala.

i did numerous solo rides of 350-360 km in a single day back in the early 90's on my Kawasaki Bajaj KB 100. I also did a group ride of about 500+ km in a single day, we went to tirupati from bangalore, did a darshan and drove back. almost fell asleep on the bike that time, no red bull's in those days. it was also highly reckless - in hindsight. No safety gear whatsoever !

maximum kms done by me on a smaller capacity two wheeler is approximately 400 kms on my kinetic honda while going from nagpur to delhi, way back in 2001.

@satyenpoojary: very well said bro.............a true biker does not need any record or trophies........btw.............u are still getting time to post on xbhp...............aren't you busy with the preparations?

and yes sometimes i also used to do some 100-200 kms trip on M80.....that too of my GF.........since i was deprived of any two wheeler for almost a year, after i left college and till i can afford a bike of my own.

I have done 2 long rides so far. By long ride I mean>500 kms in a single day. I got my CT 100 from Bangalore to Mumbai.1080 kms 2 days. halted at Belgaum. The second one was an unplanned trip to Goa on my CT 100. It was a 4 day trip where we travelled for 2 days. While travelling back we rode all night. 1200 kms. The best part is my bike never gave up and went around flawlessly. Rode at 80-85 through out. Both of them were the greatest days for me as it has always been about the joy of riding for me.
