      What did i do?
I booked a flight to KSA and enjoying petrol at the price of 6rs for 91 Octane and 11rs for 95 Octane

But then dont have a Motorcycle here!

Jokes aside,i thought id better take some time off Motorcycling at these dark times! :P

Due to this skyrocketing petrol price private transportation is severely affected. I remember once i used to fill my dad's bajaj FE with 3 lits with 100 bucks, the now the same 3 litrs costs 200 exactly double and in last 2 years 20 Rs/lit rise.
Luckily i can claim petrol bills for the office commute and it comes around 900Rs as i stay just 6kms away. but still i make atleast one trip a month to home which is 800+kms to and fro on thunderbird/apache which costs me approx 23 lts. so 23X20(increase in last 2years)= 460Rs which is seriously a considerable increase within 2 years. I have been planning to build my own electric bike around R15's frame for a long time, i think it is time give it a serious thought again. Again have to reduce my long rides until something affordable alternate for petrol is invented.

If you are serious about the electric bike funda on R15's frame, I would be one of your probable customers.

The step has been opposite on me. I have started not to bother about fuel bills and next step is i am getting a bigger bike within a few days.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

well its good to see this kind of a post where as for me I live in Paradise. Allahabad its a small town hardly any distance I stay in the heart of the city i.e civil lines. So My riding per day must be around 5km. or may be 10km as we dont have much places to ride here. Well my average of my bike is 43-45 pulsar 180ug4 in city only and monthly exp. on petrol is 10ltrs. only thats it.. hahaha laugh I dont go beyond 40 speed @ 3000rpm

Well, I've started to ride more sanely. Even when I'm late for work (which happens to be quite often). Don't exceed 60k/hr on my P180 usually. But thats quite hard if you live in Delhi and have open roads as part of your journey.
Also, I take the car - a diesel!!! - to meet my gf 40kms away in Greater Noida. It actually comes down to almost the same price of fuel! Plus I have air conditioning and a set of JBL speakers thumping away to my will
I plan to cycle down to the bus stop and take the AC buses to work after I get a cycle. key phrase: PLAN TO.

Man I hope oil prices come down soon. It's hovering around $98 a barrel right now.

It doesnt matter. I always fill up for Rs.500 whenever the fuel gets low in my vehicles.

                        Keep It Simple Silly...

Scooters???...no way...otherwise would have bought one already...since we all know price may not fall back now..even if it does it will be marginal...so rather decide on priorities...I have to travel 40+ kms daily...so how I manage??
less spending on GF/Wife & dining....change job....do one onsite trip a year if you are in IT....work from home...I'm doing it already...& importantly drive within the limits...It works for me...
                        Regards,

I must admit that Bangalore roads are indeed worse, may be the local municipality (BBMP) has some tie-ups with Suspension Manufacturers

I guess this is what they call Public-Private partnership

That's amazing , I love this kind of noble policies by companies.
I wish government allots petrol in the ration card at a discounted price atleast just like Rice sugar etc

Does anybody have info on any petro cards available here in Bangalore? I mean if there is any exciting offer?

No changes here. Earlier I was getting fuel worth 500 and I'm still getting the tank filled with 500 INR/-

The only thing is, I've stopped looking the the quantity and now only look at the price on the meter.
