Same here, i too filled my bike with that amount from last 1.5 yrs.....actually there are three petrol pumps in 1km radius near my home but i travel 4.5 kms just for the sake of clean petrol and nice cantt roads.Out of 500 rs 480 for petrol and 20 rs for the "SYSTEM" pouch to keep my bike's engine healthy....yeah when i yesterday go there i found that "speed petrol" is 69.9 km/lt and i was like.......damm man it surely dig a big hole in my small pocket money.

i've posted a thread in 'Help me' section asking if there was any way i could increase the mileage of my karizma to combat the fuel price hikes..

later found that good riding habits are the only way...else switch to e-bikes/bicycles...

the 100 rupee mark may b reached in 2012

My drive to the office is 30kms one side.. so 60 kms commute daily.. Now, how much ever I try to keep it low, but my avg running speed always fall between 70-90..

I really dont worry too much about the petrol prices as its beyond my control... but I just ensure that my bike is performing to the best of its abilities with in my speed range..

So far, I have been getting the FE between 40-43 kmpl despite ripping upto 115-120 occasionally .. So I am quite happy with my NightFury.. .. Like most others here, I too usually fill up petrol worth 500 bucks and forget it till it hits the reserve ..

My Daily run is around 20kms one way. That makes it a total of 40kms both way. There used to be days when 400bux of fuel would last 2 weeks. Now its just lil more than a week. Thinking about installing a CNG kit in my car and driving to office... it will be so much cheaper than riding bike to office + it has AC too .

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Please tell me if coasting down the slope with engine turned off in neutral has any bad effect on bike. I ride Yamaha SZ-R.

I personally don't care about petrol cost as far as I love biking & my machine, however the b'lore traffic is becoming worse with every passing day, 90% of my ride is non-5th gear !!

Absolutely safe nothing to worry, if you don't have button start then come to stand still, kick start and then go, don't use gear & clutch method it can have bearing on life of clutch plates.

I have not cut-down on my bike riding despite rising fuel-prices. In fact, I have cut down on other unnecessary spends so that I can continue my biking, with my overall spends (biking + others) being the same (or close to same) as before.

Riding downhill in neutral is not advised by manufacturers, but more importantly it can have a bad effect on YOU.
Always ride downhill with engine running in 2nd, or 3rd gear, so that you can take help of engine braking (along with normal braking) if there is a need to slow down or stop. If the bike can ride down the slope in 3rd gear, do not ride in any higher/lower a gear.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Started studying harder to get a better paying job after an year or so. Rising prices won't matter if I can get equally high income, haha
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Rs.80/Ltr, 30kmpl RX100 stopped making sense. So bought a LPG Spark and thats my regular commute now. RX100 usage restricted to 30kms/week.
