Its your take Bro, If you want that Xtra compression go ahead with these modds and if you do not want to take any chances, then remain stock you will be a happy man forever.

Top speed will remain the same, coz the sprockets are not changed. Basically stock sprocketing ratio will be done according to the stock tune, with the modified tune you are under gearing the bike. Hence you are able to get to the top speed a bit faster.

@Harish: With all due respect (no pun intended), dunno about others but i cant be happy forever on stock, it sucks. Its not top speed, but the fact when i whack open the throttle my mouth gets whacked open with a wicked grin pasted on my face and remains that way till one cuts off the ignition .
                    It just ain't topspeed!!!

Good to hear that you've got yourself Joelled.. something i have been planning do for months but always something crops up at work.

I have one query though! with the Performance Air Filter left open to interact with the elements, how would the bike fair when it is say raining heavily?? Do let me know what did Joel tell you in this regard.. thanks.

Speaking of tank mounted GoPro's Heres mine.
200cc 2011 FZS. Keihin carb, K&N, 66mmRRGS Forged piston with machined valve reliefs, Big Valve head, std cam, Carbon yoshi TRC muffler, custom header pipe, 15t front sprocket, std rear.
6ft/100kg rider and engines 20kms old.
Has a base tune. At low throttle openings and under 5k its a bit of a dog (Ruff /rough )
I'll be back home in a couple days and get the tune sorted out and some other upgrades (waiting for racing 8pin single plug CDI, and other secrets)
I was not going for a top speed run so the 109kph is only at part throttle and not a 100% throttle run, I was on and off the throttle.
I'll do a possible topspeed run when I'm not wearing teeshirt, shorts and joggers
My mate has a black FZ16 2011 model, Stock except for the Yoshi stainless TRC muffler (same as mine) and custom header pipe.
We both are running the yoshi supplied DB killer.

Around 31-35secs into the clip we go past the 2 traffic cops standin on the left side under the trees. Its a 40kph speedlimit along this road for bikes btw...I think we were under 40kph only at the red lights
I have a few more clips if you look at my other uploads.

Rylan, Nice work on the bike mate, I wish I had a JJ cyl head. the nightmares I had dealing with that indonesian a$$h07e Haryono and his junk parts just pissed me off to no end.

                          Thanks for the review Rylan.
I will lend you my go-pro and you can take some videos for sure. The way 120s come-up is quite surprising for the fact that its only an FZ with 2 valves
The new cam does wonders and keeps the valvetrain as reliable as stock.

@Shivang - I now have the stock replacement airfilter for the FZ. Sits inside your airbox and keeps all the elements away for good .

                            Hi,

I believe an inexpensive Rs. 65-70/- 15T front sprocket change from the stock 14T will drastically shoot up the top end speed of your FZ-RC. However, the gearing will change and the low end torquey nature of FZ will diminish. You will be having fun belting her on the highway though and the stress level of the engine will reduce as the rpms required to achieve the speed will significantly go down. I'd say try it out once... If you don't like it, you can always revert to stock..

Either Honda Unicorn or Bajaj Pulsar 15T sprocket will be a direct fit.

                            Cheers,

My ride’s a fz16 (dunno why, closer to 15). Yes a street fighter in looks and handling, anyone mention it’s a fighter in performance department I would beg to differ. It’s a pity that the chassis and tyres capable of taking a lot more, a 150cc motor does the job and that too pathetic. Though I followed a proper break in process, I never got good returns, mileage figures were 28 kmpl and the max that I could get outta her was 110 kph........

It really is something to ride a custom tuned bike isnt it .. Im going on for the big bore for my 220 next week. Also, curious to know how the air filter remains dry in the rains ..
