Afaik, the number plate should be visible while on the move, keeping it on mudguard aint a option in that case. May be front visor can do

nope. It has to be on the plate. That is the reason why the manufacturers are forced to sell them with the number plates even though it slightly ruins the looks. The plates always come in standard size. The fonts and the font size are also standard. Any deviation from the standard is liable to penalties. Whether the cops do that or not, is another thing.

I have seen many bikes (regular & SBK's) with number mentioned on the front fender or on the windscreen (if provided). Have seen Police bikes having the same.

          Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Bet you've seen lot of people riding without the helmet too, even the police.

Mostly the police man. They think they are law enforcers so they don't need to obey what they enforce.

Yeah you can have white background and white lettering but, it has to conform to the rto set standards like font size, colour, font style, format and most importantly VISIBILITY. None of which can be achieved by writing on the front fender of a motorcycle. If you have a scooter you can write the number on its shield in bold over a white background and that is accepted.
The number must be visible in both day and night conditions to a cop or a traffic camera. In case you commit a traffic offense or crime involving your vehicle the cops or witnesses must be able to read your number plate from afar in case you're trying to escape.
No point getting into the details of it but basically that is the idea behind the license plate placement.

                  Update on front no plate..
Pasted no on front mudguard with proper sizing and white background black lettering rule..
                  No issues such.,
Came across 3 rto squads and they said its ok as long as the number matches with one given to you .
As far stealing is concerned. I am not going to commit any kinda of crime

Re: Modifications allowed on BIkes [as per Indian Law]

                    Hi Guys,

I wanted to know if a top canopy can be attached to two wheelers (planning it on an honda activa)? (Like an auto-rickshaw) (Will ensure width of it is lesser than the total width of the vehicle)
Frames(hollow cylindrical rods) would come up from the front of the vehicle, plateau on top till the rear of the vehicle & vertically drop. Canopy would be wrapped around the top & back, & the front would have a transparent polyfiber. Are there any rules pertaining to the same & any permits that I should take?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

                    Cheers

To-day read of a man in a car being charged with traffic offense for not wearing HELMET INSIDE A CAR.His co-passenger was also included in the challan for not wearing the Helmet in a car. This had happened in Hissar...
So you see cops are innovative and the next time you are walking on the road ..wear a helmet
i've charged rs.200 for not wearing helmet while drinking water at a handpump almost 4-5 feet far from a 10feet wide road in a village of Rajasthan by local police station team passing from there in their Jeep. And yes also given me a reciept of that, payable at near by P.S.

What? You can cross question them to prove that if you were ridng without helmet or not.

Get a helmet cam and keep it on for these instances. More you fall for their so called "dhamkis", more they will mint out money from us.
They work "for us", not the vice versa

Hi guys, My R15 was Black and I custom painted it Matte Black. Will I have to get it endorsed by the RTO? In the RC Certificate the color is mentioned as black. Please advice
