    LOL....

mate that will change soon. The trouble has been so far like you had mentioned that Joel was a one man show.. He had to keep up with racing and then also handle shipping, procuring ordered parts and ship it himself. Things will change once he is done finishing his new shop.

    RC will become bigger.

    Cheers,

Finally peace of mind. Tuning issues got solved and the flat spots have been disappeared. Now the bike revvs like a stream and the next caution thing would be the mileage. And if that gets solved then I'll be the happy man. Was very frustrated all these days thinking about what could be done with my babe.

Today a Suzuki GSR 150 guy was having a small drag with me and I smoked him at a very great distance. He was just wondering how the stock Fz (which is not) could beat him with such a margin! All this under 7k RPM. Still there is lot more to open.

      Happy reading and Ride Safe

Will tell you after the mileage part is addressed. Don't want to jump the gun. All I wanted to say is the bike was not revving freely and I had all my time and effort wasted on thinking about that. But now that problem has been solved. As I suppose you are in B'lore, it's better you visit him and get things solved. Still checking the mileage. If the mileage crosses 40 then I will be happy with current setting.

KOCHI: Are you one of those motorists who always buy premium petrol? If so, the decision of oil companies to practically put on hold the production of premium petrol and diesel may be of concern to you. The companies, however, have their reasons for doing so, the major one being the petrol consumption pattern in the state after the recent price hike.
The price difference between ordinary and premium petrol in Kerala in the post hike period is around Rs 9; earlier, it used to hover around Rs 3. Similarly, the price difference between ordinary and speed diesel is now around Rs 17; it was about Rs 10 earlier.

The off-take of premium petrol used to be around 1,200 kilo litre per month, which was very low compared to ordinary petrol, which is about 55,000 kilo litre per month even during the pre-hike period. And now the consumption of premium petrol has come down by half to about 600 kilo litre per month, industry sources told TOI here.
However, some of the dealers said the consumption of premium petrol had started dwindling when oil companies started blending in the state. "Earlier, oil companies used to import premium petrol with high octane, and the customer satisfaction level then was high. But later the companies started producing premium petrol domestically by mixing ordinary petrol with additives. This did not go down well with customers who complained that there wasn't any significant difference in the performance level of the two products," a pump owner in Thrissur said.
"Now with the recent hike, the price difference between ordinary and premium petrol/diesel has become very wide, forcing more customers to opt for ordinary fuel. And as a result, many pumps have stopped selling premium fuel. They are also unable to bear the extensive evaporation losses when premium petrol remains in the pumps for long periods without much off-take," he said.
And majority of motorists feel this decision will not make any impact in the city. "There is no marked difference when premium petrol is used; there is no change in mileage. So why should I spend more," asks Ganesh P Nair, a marketing executive who owns a Hyundai i-10.

ODO is 1500 kms and now I have started opening the throttle.........

@Shiv, What do you think about sprocketing with 15T on front. Thinking to do that but I want try everything with stock sprocket first.

0-80 km/hr whacks in no time. I reach speeds of 75-80 km/hr in seconds but after 100 it starts acting like the stock bike. I think I need to give some more time before reaching to any conclusion..... I understand that stock exhaust and sprocket are the main factors.
Now when all is said and done the only thing remains is mileage. You ride cool or whack like hell - the bike won't gives more than 33 km/l. Checked the spark plug and it's running rich.

Joel assured me that he would be sourcing the right size jet to get back the right mileage according to his calculations and I'm fervently waiting for his favour. Now riding the bike is like driving a car without A/c when the fuel meter blinks!!!

Hope Joel will save me from burning my pockets

And to those who are inspired with my babe - Modding is not an easy game. It really steals your time, money and patience with loading lots of fun. So when you want to put a step forward, you have no way out backwards and do think very deeply and don't jump to sudden decisions.

And the Silent Killer signs off!
                Hi,

See more or less you only have found out the culprits hampering your ride's performance and FE; bad fuel and putting the right sized jet to compensate for it. I guess like Joel had mentioned, changing the size of the jet from 125 to 117.5 according to his calculations should do the trick. A properly tuned ride can destroy other bikes in a matter seconds. i can vouch for it by putting R170 as an example which my friend just loves to mess around with Dukes and now Ninja 250Rs too ... Ninja will obviously take on R170 post 120+ kmph coz of the current tuning issues but then being super light on her feet and nimble on corners and with the extra power at her disposal, all the Ninjas from my group are left behind by over 2-3 miles in the ghats by the time we are done with them!!

In your case, you have already witnessed the potential of the set up you have from RC and that too without going in for the rest of the mods like FFE. If you remember correctly i had already mentioned about the limitations of power output with the stock exhaust pipe. Anyways, do bear in mind, if you do go for a 15T front sprocket set up, then the gearing will change thus increasing your 0-60 timings. In short the bike will take longer to hit those speeds but will have a better top end.. theoretically 145 kmph. So the hooliganism you are witnessing with the 14T will be gone and then it will become a CBR 250R like but with better cornering abilities as it already has with the stock bike.. if you know what i am saying..

Since, you don't do much of touring like i do, stick with 14T, do all you can while you can till you get to start feeling that you want more top end.. only then go for 15T.

                Cheers,

Hey Jonahmano.. You seem to be over interested in smoking vehicles. On this page itself you have smoked a GS150R, All the cars, Karizma, P180, a bunch of Hunks, CBZs etc.

Please dont tell me you modded the bike to smoke others!!

I would ask you seriously to refrain from such acts and enjoy the ride. Before modding the bike, mod the mind.

So why bother modding if you are going to ride like its still stock?
Of course you mod so you can smoke other bikes/cars. Nothing wrong with that although there is a time and place for everything. Don't do it on busy roads, peak hr traffic times, near schools, foot traffic etc. Time and place.

Its like asking the owners of Dodge Vipers going to see Henessy in Vegas USA, rolling out with over 1400hp to drive nicely... You really think thats going to happen?

There is a place called Highway.

You are not aware of the Indian Road Scenario.

No one follows lane driving. My wife was working in Swedish Embassy in Delhi - Some one from Sweden came for the first time in Delhi. His comment about Indian Traffic Sense was - Am I in a Chicken Race?. You can relate to the comment in every sense.

Yeah I did modd my bike to smoke others. And that too atleast in my range I mean bikes ranging from 150cc-180ccs. I know bikes great than 180cc can pacify me but I'm enjoying my style of smoking in my range when people think the way stock Fz-16 smokes bikes in same category when the fact is it's Joelled 180 beast and they don't know.

Now about overtaking cars, I never said I overtook any car on highways. I myself own a car and I know what are the capabilities of a car after 100km/hr. when I said overtaking cars, it was on two lane state Highway with lots of terrains and zig-zag roads. And with little less space for overtaking and better cornering the bike has, I say the bike wins may it be the stock. I told this same story when I did this same type of trip on stock bike but when I did this trip with the modded one I felt it much better.

Hope you has been cleared of what you thought otherwise and I know you are a good pal of mine and always be.

No, I have seen one of Miks video and believe me the roads were wider, without any potholes and ride able without any hassle. The scenario here is very differnt. In one or two places in some cities you may find those kinds of roads but traffic takes away everything it has got.

O yes, my wife had gone to Ho chi minh city some years back, the roads looked better in the pics I have seen. Truly enjoyed to see the bunkers and underground tunnels which were built during the war phase.

But yes, some of the highways and expressways in India are world class.

I guess the important point here to be noted here is.. Street racing a complete NO NO! and opening her up on 4 lane highways, ofcourse keeping safety and precautions in mind YES damn YES!!!

Anyways, Jonah please do share your report once you are able to source out 117.5 jet size. Since, i am yet to return to Mumbai, i won't be of any help to try and source one such jet for the same.

                                Cheers,
