Every smallest segment is filled up (literally) by 100-220cc machines. The industry doesn't need more motorcycles in these exisitng segments anymore.
What this industry needs NOW are:-->
Scooters in the economy range, below 100cc (like 80cc or so)
Exciting Motorcycles in 250cc+ range, upto 600cc, not beyond 600cc.
Smaller Scooters might be seen soon, especially for girls from average-earning families. But, for the bigger bikes, the industry has it's own excuses - we don't have market for these bikes, we can't service them, etc, etc. However, there are solutions to every problem.
Some Japanese manufacturers are going ahead with 1000cc bikes, which are no use to India, because law permits them and demand is not a factor, as it's an import, not production. Somehow, that's not what India needs.
Kinetic should go ahead and satisfy the market, about exactly what it needs. An 80cc Economy Gearless scooter for girls who travel at 40-50 kmph should be fast-seller in this market.
For Bigger Motorcycles, Kinetic should offer a 600cc bike's advance bookings, like Hyosung 650's bookings, on a small advance payment (say Rs. 10,000). Back it up with good advertisements for everyone to know.
This way, company can know the "really interested" customers, and analyze the demand.
Later, Kinetic can EITHER start the production/ import if demand is enough OR if it doesn't seem feasible, refund the amounts with predecided interest (if pre-decided).
Bottom Line is that the company needs a group of Strategist, Innovative & Visionary Managers, with future oriented plans & products, to survive the heat from competition.
