2009 Speculation thread: What bikes could be launched?

However, I wonder which powerplant would be used for it? We know R15 comes from long stroking & adjusting the YZF R125.
So, where would be this 250's engine from, if at all?

FYI, Yamaha YZF R25 is being made for the US market.

But then, the speculation is about a street bike like FZ250 and not one from the R series.

the unicorn is also known as the cbf150qthats what is in india for past 6yrs

ah! I spoke about the second pic... and Karizma is already in India for several years with a Hero Honda tag and it makes no sense to get a 150 look alike of it and brand it Honda.

Earlier it was summer of 08. Then it was Diwali of 08. Then it was for the New Year. Now it is June 09.

Just think about it. The product was technically ready and all... what is stopping it...

Seriously, the Ninja is becoming an urban legend now !!
The product is already available internationally and is pretty stable reliability wise. Dunno whats taking so long to homologate it. All they have to do is put in the saree guard and an ugly looking unmber plate at an ackward place ! Run in though some potholes and speed breakers.
Run it once or twice over the foot path. Probably crash test it against an auto rickshaw and a cow, check the headlight spread with all cars coming at high beam in the opposite direction and lo and behold, the bike is ready for India !!

Homologation has already been done many many months ago FYI; in fact, been nearly a year. There is more to this delay than meets the eye.

He means there might be a chance that the Ninja will NOT be launched ever, in India! Looking at Bajaj's strategy (the never-ending wait to launch the bike), it might very well be true. A speculation it remains, I hope though. I wonder when will (if ever) the Ninja will see the light of day on our shores...

Dangerous statement.

It's all puzzling. My take is, Bajaj simply cannot afford to disappoint. They have given multiple assurances. Looking at the way competition has taken market share upwards of 150cc, Bajaj needs this and they know it.
