This is not a 150. And when it was shown at the expo - it was actually described as being based on the shine. THAT was a damp squib!
they were taken at the expo last year, and that fact was mentioned under the pic...
and also nobody said that this would be the bike that would be realesed...
the bike coming would have close "visual features" as the bike in the picks(cbf sport concept)....

that was the info passed on to the dealers/supervisors by honda...
they also have not seen the bike....
shurely it won't have brembo calipers in the front and an underseat exhaust...
as it was said ealier, the new bike would be the stunner of the unicorn...
    so let's wait and see...

Yamaha wud bring in their new YZFR4 250 model here in face of competition for Ninja 250.Yamaha is well aware of the choices of the Indian consumer by now and wont bring a humble Fazer 250cc here.
I agree with you completely. Bajaj are at 2 disadvantages - one being Ninja's import costs & pricing. Second being it's news spread around.

Think about it - Bajaj's news gives other OEMs opportunity to think & plan. and Yamaha might just bring in something with killer pricing & similar package as the Ninja 250 itself.

      -
However, I wonder which powerplant would be used for it? We know R15 comes from long stroking & adjusting the YZF R125.
So, where would be this 250's engine from, if at all?

TVS/BAJAJ/HH/HONDA...they are not goina launch 250's soon and the fact is they dont have guts to launch the 250cc/30 bhp straightaway...but, the one good thing the TVS doing is(yeah, they cant prolong anymore...) ...they are going to launch a bike to kill R15...and the yamaha again, wont keep quite...the result is we the performance seeker at Xbhp going to have a good time...

^ekjactly...bajaj goina have a tuf time...there is every chance of baby ninja dieing pre-mature ...and making a 250cc engine is not a impossible thing for yamaha....when they can launch a bike with a price tag of 1L + for our "mileage kya hai boss ppl"...

Ok. Now my bit of speculation. My take is the Ninja 250 is NOT coming!!!

Just think about it. Think about the time it was announced, the time of launch unofficially announced, the time lapse... what has happened, what is happening now... just think about it.

There will be no problems for pricing the Ninja. This months issue of Overdrive, Rahul Bajaj has said that it is a CKD kit. As for KTM they will be launched halfway through next year.

                        • Saw the Ninja on the road yeaterday. It indeed does look a lot bigger than a 250 on the road. Much like a 400, actually.

You could have been a bit more specific. A motor show could mean auto expo or intermot.

I personally do no think Honda is going to plonk a Uni engine in the stunner.
Agreed that there is a bike coming from Honda which would be to the Uni what the stunner is to shine. Most probably it would be of a different design.

But again the stunner has not exactly set sales charts on fire. So Two ways of looking at it -

                                1) why cannibalize an already slow product. just leave it alone.
                                2) why not spice up things a bit - and in the process lead to two different bikes with many common components thus leading to lesser production cost, a la Bajaj.

                                lets see what honda does.

PS: not meaning to be rude, Going by what Honda does in the Indian Market - I doubt if their motorcycles will get any 'real' upgrades.
                                R.I.P kriss.
