      Small OT :
Just bought this Bluetooth Helmet Headset from aliexpress for 27$ (now 31$) and guess what , it was delivered from Netherlands in 20days. Tested in indoors, calls are crisp and clear , will check tomorrow how it performs while on the move, alongwith GPS navigation and music

        Re: Helmet Communication

Most of the posts here in this thread talk about bluetooth headsets, which are used for calling / receiving calls.
I am looking for a Walkie-Talkie which i can use to talk to other riders I am riding with or communicate to the pillion on highways.
        Could anyone please suggest?
It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!

Most of the bluetooth helmet headset have intercom facility, but you need to have identical products

If thats what you think about Bluetooth, then you are not well informed about the technology. Bluetooth is a wireless technology that has variety of applications. A bluetooth device requires another bluetooth device to communicate with. In the most conventional form we know about the Bluetooth headsets that pair with our cellphones that allow us to make or receive calls.

But there are specialized bluetooth devices that are designed specifically for inter-communication within a short radius. For this you will need atleast 2 of these same devices.

Most popular brand out there right now is the Sena Bluetooth Communication. Head over there and have a look Communication Archives - Sena

If you are into a little bit of DIY, something like this may work for you:
Build a Bluetooth Intercom for bike rides, motorcycle rides, espionage, general mayhem, etc...

Something that I am looking into. However, I may replace the Bluetooth transmitter/receiver with components from a cheap walkie talkie or FM set
The wired Intercom systems are available on Chinese sites like dhgate, alibaba, etc for under 1k.
That will work as is for Rider to Pillion coms. Communication between motorcycles may take a little bit of DIY as mentioned above.
                Rides:

Monsoon Ride 2015: Gurgaon - Lansdowne
                Diwali Ride 2015: Gurgaon - Mana/Badrinath

                Races:
                Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm 2016
                Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare 2016
