  • Helmet Communication

One of the major problems during a bike tour is lack of verbal communication between two riders or between the rider and the pillion.

I found about out about a lot of gadgets on the net which make such communication possible. Even the chap on bajajpulsar.org promises a pic and know how about the FM instrument but has not kept his promise or for the instance updated the "tech n mods" page. (Thats where xbhp.com scores over other crap)

I wanted to know if such an instrument, Indian or Imported(which genuinely works!) will be available in Mumbai or any other place in India.

    Please reply guys.

Hi... the guy on bajajpulsar has kept his promise... the file is available for download the yahoo groups page...
I had checked for such devices and found only a few ones.. costing $200+
which i think is not worth the money.. try and look for some hobby electronic kits which may do similar stuff (FM transmitter/receiver)

yeah...that is one of the major problems in a bike ride....but 200+$ for a two-way communication device is not my idea of spending cash.....

$140 is not cheap at all for this device. why dont u post some pics and test results on range , clarity , ease of use etc.

Its a steal, I was in UK last month, the avg rate was 150 Pounds(approx Rs 12,000) for 1! ,this is one of the only ones avalaible in a pack of 2, that too for Rs 6,700! Have u seen something cheaper, let me know cause I have been researching this for years now and know every brand and model and its price!

Range is great-I have tested it at over a 100 feet that too on a turning and it was fine, clarity is unheard of, at around 60 KMPH, u dont even get the wind speed(it should be that same at high speeds) and very easy to pair with the other rider or cell phone.

                          Re: Helmet Communication

Hi, now that I have some money (read 5k give take 1k), looking out for Helmet Communication. Although its a dead thread so want to revive it with few questions :
                          1) Please dont suggest BT/Midland/Sena , they are way out of budget.
                          2) If I want to have rider to rider talk, is it necessary that I need to have same brand device or any brand would work?
                          3) Are these water-proof?
                          4) Do mobile phone brand make any difference, when it comes to bluetooth connectivity? (Using Xolo Q1000 Opus)

During ISG2G, i guess Parimal had a bluetooth communication device...it was within your price range. Yes for rider to rider, you need same brand i guess. But mobile brand does not matter. And cheap ones are generally not waterproof.
