re: Modifications on KTM Duke/ RC series

I'm starting to tinker with the idea of replacing the 390'sconsole with the 990's. The rpm needle is something I'm going to have a difficult time living without on the 390!

Anybody have experience or idea of whether the electronics/connections will match up? Not really bothered about the physical fit.

Better to go for a smart aftermarket analog tachometer as this conversion would be very heavy on the pockets: new console, that too would have to be imported, new brackets need to be fabricated, fiddling with the electricals and the worst would be losing out on features such as mileage figs, avg speed etc.
And since the ecu sends all the error messages on the console it would not be possible in the first place to do such a thing. The one from 690 has a different working.
      Not possible imo.

But I've heard 'The Claw' from ViaTerra is a perfect fit and I'm considering getting one.

Will check with Let's Gear Up in Bangalore about the availability of The Claw. I did come across this Dirtsack when searching for saddle bags and tail bags for the Duke. Not heard of this brand before so if anyone has info on these please share.

Both, the Nomad v2 Saddlebags with Rain Cover and the DirtSack saddlebags seem like very interesting choices. I guess it would boil down to individual needs in terms of volume, fitment and style.

I had been to Let's Gear Up in HSR Layout, Bangalore yesterday and Viaterra Claw is available. The good thing about Dirtsack is that the tail bag and saddlebags can be separately used but Viaterra Claw is a combination of tail and saddlebags. In terms of sheer volume, Claw is still the boss!

After lot of follow up with my local auto shop [atleast a month], finally he got me the much needed mod - Philips X-treme Vision 55/60 H4 bulb...

He was telling me that he can get Osram night breaker plus from the day one but I was so adamant that I needed philips [b'coz of it's slightly better review].

            Next - Raynox tank bag..

re: Modifications on KTM Duke/ RC series

Had a question if anyone knows regarding changing tyres to dual type/spoked wheel mod to a 390. how would it affect the abs system? from what i've researched, keeping the wheel the same, the tyres need to be of the same rating. has anyone looked into this?
Also wanted to fit a legit charger point for phones, and a plus point would be if it had a regular plug point but your car charger would do as well. can only find products abroad, but not in india. Also found tutorials on xbhp, and other online sources, but they all talk about connecting directly to the battery, which keeps power on all the time. I'm sure there could be some way of connecting so that it's only on when the ignition is turned, without cutting into existing wires? I know some of the imported bikes have an auxillary point where you can safely connect.
                Thanks!

Sounds like what you get on some of the imported bikes. Will check this out! Thanks Kamlesh.
Also when I get some time i'm sure a trip to the bajaj workshop wouldn't hurt.

Looking to do these mods for my Mastiff : Questions are underlined

                          1. Sliders -> thinking of J.C. Moto or KTM , KTM is costlier but has better finish. Do the Leg guards sturdy enough or should I replace it by crash bobbins?
                          2. Paddock stand -> need an el-cheapo one just for chain, cant afford KTM paddock > does anyone know of anything other than the Kreigers one?
                          3. Rear tire huger -> Thinking of covering the entire rear tire with an extra mud flap
                          4. Chain slider rubber -> need to put a piece of rubber under the chain to prevent it from chain-slapping
                          5. Rynox mobile holder -> Bought it . Need to install it.
                          6. Charger for Mobile -> Is anyone using the extra connector under the MID to charge mobile or connect GPS?
                          7. Disk Lock -> Need to buy one from Snapdeal

And I knew about the KTM PP but the problem is its not available in India (AFAIK) and even if it did we need to see the price .But the good part would be it wont void warranty since its KTM.
