you can check with the dealerships whether both the versions are using the same head(by checking the parts code for both in the parts catalog) or you can try grooving developed by Mr Somender singh Might help , but its better done if you have a spare head from junkyard)

You mean a conversion to dtsi? In that case the wiring also to be changed right? I am not sure on the costs. Meanwhile I checked with mechanics on this and I get the same response; Saar, new engine. Keep driving and it will go away:banghead: I doubt if bajaj would do it as I had the rebuild done from a local mechanic. Let me see.

Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well
and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.

not for conversion , i meant that if the 144 and 149cc blocks share the same head then there shouldnt be any issues in using the stock classic head , if possible go for a slightly larger main jet

I find that I have fitted UG3 bore kit which has 58mm dia while my model has 57mm. The stroke seems same for all 150 models which is 56.4mm dia. Now my bore's dia is 58mm while at head it should be 57mm. Totally zapped on this.

Again going for Ug2 kit sounds good but $$$$ and the current kit will be wasted.

Any idea of low compression piston? Are they available?

Thank you very much for bringing up the topic.

Sorry, mate, the manual and original tool kit was stolen in 2006 in Delhi; Have been trying to source it but to no avail yet

take the bore back to the dealer from where you bought , explain your situation and ask for a n exchange , it works out here , if the part is unmolested should work for you also

Change in shift, my laptop and the rains have been extremely cooperative I should say :banghead:. It has caused all the delay. My laptop ia broke and am unable to transfer photos. The rain has kept me away frpm working on the bike. Above all the possible knocking issue has dragged me off. I am so worried on that.

I managed to work on putting things back. I worked on brake master and worm gear also. Most of the parts are in. My only worry is the knocking issue that might crop up

Pending work would be stickers, Speedo and check knocking.

The bike is ready to hit the roads. But I guess few tweaking is necessary.

A pic snapped on a hurry.
Quite a few pending works left out like number plates and side stand indicator

Currently working on charging system. The battery seems to hold no charge at all. 3volts at idle Got a multimeter

Would help if I can get a picture of the capacitor location and how it looks at regulator. Thanks.
