Well then RTR 180/Menace for Bike of the Year 2009..??Originally posted by Joel View PostThe launch was anyways planned for April - May. Nothing for Jan - Feb. The RTR 180 is still under going tests and updates. However the works are almost final now.
It better be good.. if priced right, it might even eat up sales of the FZ16.

Knowing TVS i would'nt be surprised if the bike gets launched a month or two later than usual, those guys are really meticulous when it comes to perfecting their products, it's either that or their plans for a new model leaks out sooner, because with the Bajaj when we hear anything about a new bike being launched, it does get launched within a short time frameI'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

Well My vote would surely go to the R15.
Kudos to yamaha for launching a bike that has redefined the 15occ segment. Be it in terms of performance, smoothness, handling or price range of the contenders in this segment.
And most importantly I'd also like to thank Yamaha for finally showing some concern for all of our poser friends out there, cuz now they finally have a stock bike worth flaunting.

Fz 16!!
My vote goes to the Yamaha FZ16.
also, does the honda aviator classify as a bike? I am not sure.
And hence, i feel the primary question should be modified to " The Best 2 Wheeler of the Year 2008" or else make seperate categories.
Nevertheless,
Why FZ16? Just Look at the damn thing! I wont dwell in the performance part of the bike, as we all know about that, those are facts. My love lies somewhere else. Never before have i seen such a refined and wonderful form on a motorcycle made in this country. Its unbelievable. And that my dear friends is up'ing' the 150cc class. At a 150cc price.
Way to go Yamaha. You Guys found your passion back, give a shot at our most passionate biker contest. Might win one of ur own bikes.

I already voted for R15.
Strangely, only R15, FZ16 & RTR Fi have touched "double digits" of voting numbers. This clearly shows Xbhp as a site of Bikers ... Cool!
I know there maybe scooter fans, just my opinion. No flames please ...

yyyy all this yam stuff!!
okey no doubts yam has brought out two beauties in the Indian Market !!!
and one of them probably is going to win.
But guys if you read history correctly Yam brought a 350 and then went to TIMBUKTU on a long holiday....then ... it was HH and bajaj who went out of their way to bring in 150 cc when most of the two wheeler users were still "HAAPY" with their scooters churning out 6 bhp...(i remember people saying "OH that CBZ jus gived 35 km/l avg very low vert low who will buy such a bike") if these two wouldnt have been there we wouldnt see hondas, kawis , and yams on our roads today.
but having said that i am still dying to ride a honda 2009 fireblade!!

@anc_k: i partially agree with you, but you cannot deny the fact that Yam has totally turned the tables in the indian biking scenario and set the cat free among the pigeons. i feel that if HH an Bajaj are responsible for what we are getting today then Yam will be responsible for what we will get in the coming future
. Period !

R15
My vote too goes to the R15 -
Just coz, without it most of Indian bikers would still be stuck with pulsars, apaches, hunks, cbz, karizma etc...they would not even come to know what is happening to bikes around the world.
Lesser mortals like me who own ordinary kind of bikes, cant even make full use of R15's true potential...even if I had one!!!
So owners, ENJOY
And as they say "NEIGHBOURS ENVY, OWNERS RIDE"
