my vote for bike of the year 2008

And the vote goes to FZ 16. It is affordable, bold sculpted lines, excellent value for money, driveability, high quality of materials used. I suggested one for my neighbour, who has brought it. I also get to drive it as he is out of station half the month and he trusts me with the bike - Owner's envy....Neighbours pride!!!!

this bike has radical new chasis design in red colour, special coating in the engine for less friction, disk brakes in the front (amazing for a 110 CC), electric start and a heat shield on the silencer... not to forget the amazing new decals!

I object, reject, deject, eject, ject, ect, ct and t this discussion.
      You have a point man!!!

It would be my vote, only if this thread was named as "XBHP's PaintJob of the year 2008" lolz

The RTR-FI more out of my personal taste rather than anything else, just love the way that thing pulls from the bottom-end, totally racous and wild! absolute hooligan and 100% fun if you can handle it
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

The R15... "changes everything!" including price perception and YAMAHA INDIA (thank god).

Also all bikes are from different segments like some are commuter specific, Scooter, performance bike etc and all these segments have different features to offer, so result should be more segment oriented, though My vote is for R15

                        R15

Yamaha have finally given India a motorcycle which is just not technologically most advanced in India but also up to date with the rest of the world products.

The lighter, stronger & more rigid Delta box Frame, 4 valve engine with forged pistons, linked type mono-suspension are few things making it the trend-setting 150cc motorcycle in India by far.

Personally, the only other company which can compete and is capable of beating Yamaha at this level is none other than Honda, and for obvious reasons!

With all due respect to other Indian manufacturers like TVS and Bajaj, right now and for a long time to come, the best they can do is to provide good products at a cheaper price but not at all better than the likes of Yamaha R15! I guess TVS and Bajaj have lot to learn about making motorcycles equivalent to International standards.

Especially Bajaj, they can no more rely on their average dtsi technology any more, they need to do something better now! Everyone knows now that the dtsi tech is nothing phenominal! Competitors are clearly doing much better than Bajaj in every department!

For me, beating Yamaha or Honda in sales doesnt mean that others are making better motorcycles than them. Its the Indian mentality, Bajaj was able to capitalize on it few years back by launching dtsi, but not anymore. Slowly but surely, a simple motorcycle like Honda Unicorn has beaten it to the core because of overall better quality and an awesome ride! even if we consider all India sales, ZMA still sells more than the "more advanced" P220.

All my personal views, I wrote this just to explain why I feel that R15 even with more than a Lac rupee tag is the best bike to buy, and that Yamaha has shown that the real tech is much more than putting two spark plugs in the engine!!!

Yamaha R15 for me, till the Ninja 250 comes

My vote goes to "R one five" hands down...waited for years to see the 1st Indian made "fully faired" bike with technology borrowed from Yamaha's bigger bikes to see light of the day...it's definitely the biggest revolution in the Indian motorcycling industry after the RD 350.
