Re: MT Helmets - Genuine?

As far as I've seen all the SOL helmets have gone out of stock(distribution has stopped in India) and the MT range of helmets has come instead of them. I can't find the weight of the SOL helmets anywhere!?? I need help with that since I'm looking at buying a lighter helmet, is the MT range lighter than the SOL?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

SOL is now being distributed/sold in India by Zeus gears.

And the weights would be mentioned in the below the product description.

princesirohi, Sunnyside_up! Sorry for digging into an old thread, but please let us know what the outcome of the meet up during the Xbhp gtg was regarding the pending clarifications. IIRC The thread went haywire mid-way and ended with sunny offering to meet up the pune chapter and help with the answers. We never got to know what came of it.

Also trustvishwas , you and sunny had decided to discuss about SOL helmets in a similar way in the LS2 thread. Sunny had said it will take some time and the MT thread was started before it. I would appreciate if sunny gives his views regarding the SOLs sold here.

I live in Hyderabad, we have a shop here 'adventure on the rocks' which sells SOL helmets and also a registered shop which sells MT helmet, Ido have MT axxis braking helmet and I am quite happy with it. I am wondering if we have to compare safety features of SOL vs MT helmet, which is better and more preferred? for my next helmet, I would then consider either MT again or SOL. Please anyone in this thread suggest!

Re: MT Helmets - Genuine?

I own 2 SOL & 1 MT & these are my experiences on comparison with both of them...
- SOL is 100-150 gms heavier than MT; this helps me to turn my neck around slightly better during the ride
- MT airvents howls worse than Wolves combined with wind noise even at speeds < 80 Kmph while SOL has only wind noise
- MT is all curvy & edgy & this can't fix any big sticker; I personally like to have my name, ID & blood group on the helmet, which was easy with SOL 48 & 68S but with Axxis the stickers undergo wrinkles
- MT appears more VFM for the features, protection & certification it comes compared to SOL; unfortunately I haven't tested & pray God I never get a chance to test this for lifetime!!
- MT was available only with button-release in the past, but now I hear it comes with D-clip, which is a standard with SOL
- SOL is slightly bigger compared to MT; MT's inner paddings are of very good quality compared to SOL. For instance, I've used MT for over 5000+ Km (I'm sure its more, but trying to be modest) & the paddings are still the same as how it was when I had bought
- For the size of my head, SOL's "S" was a perfect fit, while MT was tight fit (which I personally prefer over SOL)

Thank you, appreciate your response friend!
yes my MT axxix braking comes with a D-ring which I liked as a safety feature better than my LS2. Indeed the wind noise is considerably high, and in this regard my LS2 FF322 Voltage is better since it has better inner cushioning and snug fit.

so SOL is slightly bigger with inferior inner paddings!! hmm this is something to note.. thanks for letting me know.

cheers!!

Re: MT Helmets - Genuine?

I have a MT Track Spirit but I do not have issues with wind noise. What ever noise there is; its bearable and not uncomfortable at all. At least for speeds up to 100 Km/Hr. The helmet is very light and comfortable. The visor is extremely clear and when you wear the helmet it is extremely hard to believe that you are looking through plastic.
And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.

Re: MT Helmets - Genuine?

I recently bought a MT helmet in Chennai. I am very much worried as some stickers are missing and misplaced. I need to find out weather it is genuine or fake! The following were found when comparing with the pictures online.
1. The blade written in the backside does not suit with the one online.
2. The size of the helmet sticker is misplaced to one side.
3. The "GPS location NFC tagging" sticker is missing the front.
Could someone please help! I am very much worried.

Glad to see some real pictures ! could you spare a moment and post some photos of the internal liner? also tell us if or not is it removable and if you could take a photo of the cheek pads after removal. ! thanks

I have had a Scorpion and a Bilt helmet . . . Scorpion was a dream and I would like to buy a similar quality lid. Bilt was a tin can, rattled, hard, not comfortable.

I use a MT Blade. Was any one able to buy a visor for the MT's? How much does it cost? The visor is extremely good compared to the cheap scratch able ones in LS2. I need a spare visor. I couldn't get it from moto 101 chennai. No stock available.

first option. rest 2 are too full with design. not single point of focus..

the first one is dapper.
