First off all,RTR180 could have got itself a performance exhaust............it wud hav changed the way it looks and would also have given perfo boost and awesome sound.
Second white RTR looks superb but what other colours would be available???
Third RTR180 retains the oversquare property of the engine.........it might be not have a short stroke of rtr160 but it surely would be a short stroke 180.

Last of all 17.3 PS is great from a 180cc,my p180 gives 16.7 PS.RTR180 wud handle superbly that my p180 cannot.RTR180 is a generation ahead of p180.Performance is at par with the premium bikes in India.Looks are dated, subtle changes but radical is expected in the final product.

The 180's stroke is longer than the 160. IIRC, Joel said that the bore is the same. Hence if the displacement has been upped, the stroke length has increased.

The background voice in the ad ... "why do I race..." is so lovely... adds a great character to the ad... I'd pick this one as better than the R15's Ad... the voice makes it win.

So, the RTR letters on the scoops stay... looks cheap (XCD-ish). I just pray for a more refined engine on the RTR 180 (heck, I never wanted the RTR 180.. should have been a 200 directly). Everything else, I believe TVS took care of it.

Yup Tvs should definetly learn a lesson from Bajaj .theres hardly any visual or major component diff between Rtr fi and Rtr180 ,atleast p200 has different tank scoops and diff exhaust to diffrntiate it from p150 ,180 .

Yeah 17.3 ps is ok.. IMO nothing much different from the RTR160. Of course I have not yet read the reviews. I just fear to see the day TVS goes the Bajaj way launching RTR200 and RTR220 with only 1ps or so difference between the bikes. I believe the RTR series of bikes should be more differentiable from each other - this is where Bajaj went wrong with the Pulsar series and is the reason why the Pulsar brand got diluted. IMO 20cc is just too less of a difference.

Watching the ad closely I noticed that the RTR 180 redlines at 9000rpm.

Anyways, as I said earlier in one of my last post, TVS is doing a great job by concentrating on one bike at a time and making it as flawless as possible.

Moreover, I personally feel some members are overreacting about its power figures! Let's not make a big deal out of why its not 18bhp. what is more important is how much of it get used in the real world! I am eagerly looking forward to this bike and especially its FI version.

I think the senior and more understanding members should just ignore the posts made by newbies and continue with the discussion. Leave it to the mods to do what's appropriate.
Comparison and analogy like what Mr.Anupam wisely did will lead to nothing but more complications.
