    Welcome to XBhp mate

You are absolutely right mate to express your opinion, however i would like to point out something that you said about the management. If you go back through the pages, there is concrete evidence that this bike has been put to production with just one goal.To take advanatage of a new class in indian road racing which permits bikes upto 210 cc..

Class M-3 Above 165 cc upto 210 cc
*Attached is the FMSCI two wheeler road racing regulations for 2009
    Look in page 4
    Road Racing rules 2009

Secondly this bike is not a new bike its more of a evolution, every manufacter does it around the world.small tweaks here and there & they have a new model.(which in this case is a very good one, and has gone through a lot of R&D to make it as flawless as possible)

IMHO i see that slowly RTR 160 is being phased out & RTR 180 will be TVS's mainstay in the market. And a 150 CC version of the Flame taking the fight to commuters.(please dont speculate anything, its just my personal thoughts.)

Also, one can mod a carb bike better than an FI one... correct me if I'm wrong...
+1 but I would consider it for its colour. And also I think K&N can be direct fitted to Fi's.Somebody solve ma exhaust query!!!

Great goin..................but the RTR180 is race developed bike and is a part of TVS PERFORMANCE racing project, there is a lot of difference in this 20cc.Yes if this bike is to be launched,I am definitley going for it whether I be an Idiot or not.

I like TVS bcoz it is a lot like me,I wont buy a 200cc+ bike until it is a 250cc,my premium bike better be below 200cc.I have a Pulsar180DTSi-black edition and I like it also very much but I did not go for 200 or +20cc upgrades.............I wud rather try a race developed 180cc.

Many people are still askin me how am I so confident about a bike which is still not launched or tested.............my answer:I trust TVS bcoz it is the company which convert a humble A150 to RTR160 which was able to match up with bikes of much faster statistics,I still have a first generation TVS fiero (not F2) that still cruises at ease with new 150cc bikes and keeps up without any complaint, master fuel efficiency even in abrupt throttle use........there lies my confidence.

@mods....forgive me if I am harsh but a joke is good so far it doesnot hurts any body

    Samarth,

From what I have heard, two to three dyno reads are necessary to arrive at a definitive conclusion about a vehicle's rwhp. So, I guess the earlier dyno tests weren't conducted in this form and maybe that explains the seemingly improbably rwhp reads.

    Nothin better to do ...

71 pages ! no one (except maybe joel) had seen the bike yet and people were already speculating on the bike's performance and fuel efficiency and god knows what. now a crappy qvga video is out and already people know the bike like they've been riding it for a month now.

for god's sake let the damn thing launch, then go take a test-ride and then comment on how it compares to a bloody r15 or zma.

before this orkut crap and forum trolls, there would be an ad in the papers or on tv and then people would see the bike or car, go to the showroom and decide. now it's just ridiculous.

i mean, seriously, this is when people still cant decide between an rtr and an fi ...

I meant that if, for example, a bike gives 20 bhp on crank & 15 on wheel, it's efficiency is 75%... So, was just asking TVS Bike's efficiency. Well, if anyone knows it, it could only be apne Joel bhaisahab..
Unicorn 12.6BHP !!! from a 13.5 bhp bike !!! U mean 93.4 % of the power is actually put down on the wheel !!! then the best performance upgrade anyone can do is to put the unicorn drivetrain on his/her bike !!

I mean not even R1s and Busas have that much ... ummm ... "transmission efficiency" .....

Not to demean u or anything bro .. but impossible !!

Also ZMAs hv 14 bhp on the wheel according to Bike India mag and P180 12.5 !!

yeah i remember it but that was a one-off dyno test and that too quite long back. I think more Dyno tests are need to get some concrete info about this.

Thats a super brilliant question.... how do you wish to measure this? I mean in what format of numbers? oh and you said percentage!

Oh and it would be good if you can shed some light on the figures for other bikes just in case you have it...!

One final question - From an earlier thread, I read that Honda bikes are great at transmission efficiency. Bajaj Bikes are not so good at transmission. Like P220, delivers some 16 bhp to rear wheel. So, my question is,

Where does TVS stand in Transmission Efficiency, in existing bikes like RTR, RTR Fi, etc.? I mean, in percentage of "power at crank" ...? Thanks in advance ...
