    Please do not go for cheap brake pads. Brakes are one of the most important part of your bike and safety. DO NOT compromise on them at any cost. Atleast get the stock OEM pads if not better.

Just needed to confirm if the brake pads die this soon.

    Life of brake pads mostly depend on ones riding style. If you break too often or drag your brakes then you cant expect much life out of it.

    Good to know the protection gear did their job and you are ok...The reason for warning on alternate oil filter is being emphasized often is due to the fact that not everybody is tech savy and maintain their bike well. I had on many instances seen bikes with sludge meeting their end, and on inquiry found that the bike had been serviced regularly at the ASC...Many times the ASC tops up the oil and does not change it, eventually leading to engine issues later..Under such circumstances, there is every chance for the the owner who experiments with spares to run into bad problems, which will be pointed to the alternates tried....So to ensure that variables are taken into account and, should a problem occurs, fault finding is made simple if the engine remains stock(also ensuring extended warranty), the warnings are given...Those who are aware of what they are doing will understand..

    I am Happy to note that you had tried alternate oil filters in your Ninja 650 successfully. .You must definitely be knowing your dots from dashes. Kudos to you, and it was good of you to share the same in this thread for the benefit of all of us... In fact I use a Santro oil filter in my Lancer with no ill effect...The Lancer OE is 900/- while the alternate is 100/-..and does the same job without issues...Ofcourse the Lancer oil filter is no longer available..

    Since you are using PSR, can you please check and let me know if its a 2CT?
    My friend is using Rosso II in hi Ninja and so far he has clocked 8k kms on them and they still have approx 50% life left. What I am not sure is if the build quality is same as the difference in ptice is huge.
    110/70 Rosso II is 4.5k
    120/70 Rosso II is approx 12k.
    Given the 250cc, 26 bhp engine with a maximum capable speed of 135 kmph (GPS tested) on a 250R, you don't need to go and spend sky high on rubber as it would be an overkill. You need to set your priorities regarding utility Vs cost and then make a call on procurement. I would prefer MPSRs simply because it has been tried and tested on CBRs and owners have given only positive reviews. I have procured "H" rated ones even though my CBR would never be able to reach those speeds ever... You can refer the Michelin India website: Michelin Pilot Street Radial Tyres for any specs or clarifications you are looking at.

    Rest you may take a sound call based on your own deductions.

    Hello everyone!
    Even I have done the earth wire mod on my bike and it surely has improved the mid-range torque mainly in 2nd and 3rd gear now. As [MENTION=32641]shv18[/MENTION] pointed out, the bike happily pulls from 3k rpm in 3rd gear without lugging! And the engine has been running a lot more cooler (the fan doesn't kick in frequently) I am very happy with the mod and would like to thank [MENTION=32641]shv18[/MENTION] and [MENTION=32286]psr[/MENTION] sir for this! Also, I've been using the FZ oil filter with shell advance ultra as of now. [emoji4]

    Thank you for your kind words. When this thread was started the end goal was always to ensure that it becomes something much more than simple blabbering of an OCMD motorcycling cartoon and i guess slowly but steadily this thread is taking that direction.

    I am happy to note that you are willing to try out FZ filter on your CBR. However, as rightly pointed out by @psr sir and the disclaimers mentioned many times on this thread, it is my duty to remind and caution all the readers and owners that this is still to be considered as an ongoing experiment! If you decide to follow my footsteps, know this you are doing so with your own independent decision and free will. As per my ownership experience so far, i am yet to find any engine problems or engine internal components failing. However, whether this experiment is repeatable or not in all other CBRs is something which is yet to be tested. If the respective readers/owners are willing to try it out and report their logs/ experiences on this thread.. we will then have more concrete data available on this thread to decisively confirm whether this experiment can be deemed safe for all Honda CBR 250R owners or not. I will continue to log my reports as the kms go by with my FZ filter experiment.

    It is not a dry type chain lube. If you check the image of the Yamalube, nowhere it mentions the same. It is usually available at any authorised Yamaha SVC or Yamaha Spare parts shop or online sites like Amazon etc.

    Tyres should be chosen based on usage.

    1, Michelin PSR - medium life, medium compound tyres. Good for touring and generally has a life span of 20k+ km. Offers decent grip.

    2. Rosso 2 - exceptional grip, soft compound tyres. Good for track or going corner craving. Has less life, about 10~13k km max. Goes for this or Metzler sportec if all you require is gripping the tarmac.

    It is Good to see that some of the findings in the thread of Shivang are standing the test of time and use...

    The Secondary Earth Wire mod was done to solve the Earth problem in Shivang's CBR250 ...and it had proved to be a boon to many CBR250R owners/users ....It is surprising that a 2016 which is hardly a Year Old could develop Earth /Negative Return problem and could benefit from the mod..

    The stock tires are not the ideal ones for CBR250...The PSR ones are supposed to be good VFM..However Shivang and other actual owners/users are the best to give a Valid Opinion on this,since I do not own a CBR250R.
