So you were doing 100+! Yes, an interceptor couldn't lock on the Busa I was riding pillion when we were doing 160+ at that time. So, there is a limit. I have been fined for doing 77 kmph near Nandi hills, but I guess 100+ would be too fast on their guns to be able to lock properly.

Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
I was doing 110+ on a R15 and the topiwala anna didn't even try, while my friend on my fz was below 100 and was caught and showed a poser pic on the screen. So, I guess their lock-in is either capable of capturing only on those lesser speeds or they are tuned.BENEATH THE REMAINS.........

you are the wiser one!
chaosaddict Ron Syl Pretty much consistent with my guess. So guess their devices are tuned to capture vehicles in the range of 60-110.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
Yes, the interceptor will surely have an upper limit but I remember a guy reporting he was caught at 130 or so on airport road (before nandi hills), so maybe they have better speed guns thereOriginally posted by bbsrailfan View PostPretty much consistent with my guess. . Moreover, to get a proper lock, the road should be empty and no other vehicles around you.

Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
Hide behind a 4 wheeler tangentially if you know what I mean so that you are untraceable.
You wont believe - this happened opp. to EMC square couple of years back when I was overtaking a car at around 75-80. Since I was on the right hand side of the car (tangentially opp of the speed gun) with the car in between, I was not caught but the car was pulled over since it was on the middle lane.
But I wont advise this to anyone because this happened at an instant and I was unaware.

Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
Hmmm...fewer the obstacles, easier it is for the radar to get a lock. Probably that explains how speed guns on the relatively open Nandi road caught the guy @ 130kph (I presume it wasn't you, Adarsh!Originally posted by Adarsh_Bk View PostMoreover, to get a proper lock, the road should be empty and no other vehicles around you.
) and it missed getting a lock on me on the relatively busier Hosur Road/Bellary Road stretches.
Aren't those radars supposed to have a very long range? They are designed to spot you before you spot them and usually get a lock on you from 200m. There's no way of knowing if you are "intercepted" and usually by the time you get to know, it's too late.Originally posted by nelson_sanjoy View PostHide behind a 4 wheeler tangentially if you know what I mean so that you are untraceable.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
Night riding in kolkata..... at about 70 on my p150 classic on the bypass coming back home after sitting with my mother in the hospital where she was admitted
Police here have white apaches...that look like old 180s but are actually 150s internally specially made for the kolkata police with lights, boxes , sirens and what not..
So 3 police officers , on the one bike (illegal)honk me from the back and I bring my speed down they ask me to pull over.... I ask why officer he says just pull over.... they all look red eyed as rajnikant and I know they are drunk as ****,,,, they dont even have helmets on... the road is deserted... I dont know why I say no... so a police man swings a laathi and hits my tank....shounts in bangla to stop.... scared as hell I accelerate as fast as I could... switch off my lights and just flee...... 100kmph comes up and they become a small dot behind me...
I get off the bypass take small lanes and reach home....
Wrong thread to be posting this but I did what I had to....
Saved, had nothing to say
I have had bad experiences with policeman but this just gives me a reason to hate them more.....

Caught!
I was caught today at chikka jala, airport road, finned for overspeeding, decided to make most of it. Uncleji was curious about bike, explained him about abs and ride by wire. In return, he explained how they catch speed violator. They have a normal camera at 2 locations in yelanka to airport stretch, whose feed can monitored from their interceptor van(They have cam at roof of interceptor vehicle too). They position interceptor anywhere between 1-2km from the cam. Watching cam feed they decide what vehicle to lock on.
Good way to avoid challan is to slow down when you see a cam fixed on pole. If you still get caught you can get a nice session of technology demonstration for 300bucks.
Towards airport:
Cam location: 100m ahead Decathlon anubhava, chikajala.
Interceptor location: 500m ahead.
Towards bengaluru:
Cam location: opp. Ambience restaurant, yelananka airforce base.
Interceptor location: on flyover after venkatala(before yelananka exit)
