I was lucky enough not to get intercepted on OOR, just before Hebbal fly-over (from Old Madras Road to Tumkur road side). May be my HID was ON that day
..
One more encounter on Sarjapur Road.. but this time I was above 80.. but my luck, I took a left turn into a small road just before the cop could flag me & after few months also I've not received any letter from BTP

Well, i guess.. Now its better, never to stop the bikes if these pandus show up.. I believe, these rules are just made up by those Pandus and its not really 50 for bikes..!Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostOnce on Kormangala Intermediate Ring Road for some 54 or 56 kmph..

But i feel, it does depend on the ride as well, if I drive my 110cc commuter even on 80kmph, nobody stops me, drive my 220cc above 60kmph and a Pandu jumps!!

Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
The Ride can't be the main cause of cops jumping... During the last G.I.R ride a huge group of bikes (around 40-60 bikes with a dozen SBK s) were riding around 60 on Old Airport road & only one poor guy on a TVS WEGO was caught & fined...Originally posted by metaphoric.el View PostWell, i guess.. cops know only one "sports" bike called "Pulsar"
.. Any kind of ripping & pandus start of on the walkee " Black Pulsar.. Black Pulsar...!!"
No offence.. but the cops think ,riders on Pulsars are offensive riders..

Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
Exactly...!! Entire B'lore (entire India.. as in city limits, right??) has limit of 50 kmph.. & the limit matters only when you can see a white MPV with its boot opened with a camera looking at you.. Well I got the comfirmation from the cop itself months ago.. Just wanted to share the experienceOriginally posted by Adarsh_Bk View PostSpeed limit for two wheelers for entire Bangalore city is 50kmph!! . Thanks for the input, bro!! No wonder, they stopped me a couple of times while doin' 55-58 km/h. Is this applicable to the confines of the city only or even on highway/open roads with higher speed limit??

Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
the so called speed limit is a big joke in india just like speed breakers. neither speed limit is sensible nor the speedbreakers do what they are supposed to do, they are vehicle breakers. lol. the speed limit sounds more like minimum speed limit :P
the road to airport has speed limit of 50 (i guess, not sure but its around that) on that road it should be actually minimum speed since its a highway. max should be 90kmph which is sensible and more then enough for smaller bikes and just enough for higher capacity bikes. when the police/govt cant control things they come up with these kinda cheap things called "limits". Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
I think cops have stereotyped opinions about bikers... Pulsars, RX100, Activa (nowadays) etc are highly targeted. Enfields on the other hand arn't.
I'd suggest keeping local police station numbers handy so as to give a complaint of harassment when wrongly charged or harassed.

Re: Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore
Some interesting observation here!
A few months ago, I was 'caught' overspeeding on a certain section of the EC Road. Not the elevated expressway, but the normal road underneath.
I'd rather not disclose my speed figures for the time being, but I was well above the imposed limits, when I spotted this interceptor parked innocuously. It was too late to brake anyway and as I passed the the vehicle, I could see from the corner of my eye that the camera/sensor thingy was turning after me. I had my hands on my brakes, ready for a cop jumping into my path, but none came my way. I expected cops at Bomannahalli jn or Madivala jn but none came my way. By then, I was almost sure that a love-letter would land at my home in a matter of days. None of that happened, and somehow I was off.
A very similar incident happened recently again on an stretch on airport road, when the interceptor tried hard to get a lock/focus on me but couldn't. That makes me ponder - are these interceptors/speed guns "tuned" for a particular range of speed? Will they struggle to get a lock/focus if a rider is above it's tuned speed range?Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. i have seen this happening few times. an r6 does not get caught but a r15v2 rider (@sachin from yrc) gets caught when he was doing 60 odd on the speedometer. and also few others. happened twice. he had thought it was 60 limit but came to know its 50kmph
