Bike Registration in banglore??

Hello guys

I am presently in silvassa (its a place near mumbai, known because of roadies session one). its the state capital of UT of dadra & nagar haveli. Here the Road tax structure is on annual basis. As i am moving to banglore very soon, so i just wish to know if it is possible to get my bike re-registered with RTO at banglore?

are you going to stay in bangalore for more than year??

If you are moving in for bangalore for more than a year then first get a NOC from the RTO overthere. You have to pay an annual road tax here. It was something around 110 & now it has been increased to around 500.

AFAIK, there is now no provision to pay an annual road tax. You have to pay the lifetime tax (LTT) and claim refund when moving out of the state for good.

Best to check with the RTO. Transport Department

yes there is a such rule bro

. I have purchased my bike like that only. You have to present a letter from your office (if government employee) while purchasing the bike that your job is transferrable. You have to do the same while paying the tax also.

I don't know about re-registration. but I guess all you need to do is get NOC from there and pay the road tax here . thats all..

Something serious needs to be done !

I faced a similar situation couple of days back. It was the same location just before Yelahanka Junction, and a corrupted cop caught me for over speeding (was doing 75kmph

). Argued with him for not having any specific speed limit for 2/4 wheelers and everywhere its the same 80kmph written on those boards. He took my license and was reluctant in giving it back. Asked me to pay 300rs ( offered to give me a challan instead of printout - reason being printer not working...he was blabbering some crap). I was short of money as i had only 200rs with me..After arguing for about 20mins, he asked me to give 100rs for no challan being given and leave the place and if argued further he will impose heavy penalty for over speeding and seize the bike. I was in a hurry to the airport and asked him to give me the challan for 200rs for which the cop turned it down !

I wish something serious needs to be done with such corrupted cops. Despite following traffic rules we end up emptying our pockets.

The speed limit is written on the boards as 60kmph. You were overspeeding & had an excessive speed of 15kmph. So there was no point in arguing with the cop when you have broke a rule. You should feel lucky that he had left you by taking just 100 rupees since most of the times they dont leave like that untill your pocket gets empty.

well, i have searched for the boards having 60kmph written on them but found none on the way to BIAL from Hebbal. Everywhere it was the same 80. And at some junctions other than this BIAL-hebbal stretch, saw boards marking clear speed limits for two and four wheelers !!!

Have you seen any board with 60kmph for 2 wheelers on this BIAL - Hebbal stretch ?

yeah i have but you have to see carefully. They write the speed limits of all the three vehicles(cars, trucks & bikes) side by side. Sometimes we get mistaken in observing that. I had been able to observe that when i was travelling in a taxi & was watching everything carefully.

I haven't done the Hebbal-BIAL stretch in the last 1+ month, but I have seen a board near Esteem Mall, stating the speed limit for 2-wheelers is 60kmph.

You're lucky to have escaped paying 100.

EDIT: Seems like the lane wise speed limits of 40-60-80 for lanes 1-2-3 (from left) is back. Saw fresh markings of these speeds in the lanes opposite Esteem Mall about a fortnight ago.

Interceptor Update!

Interceptor sighted regularly on Outer Ring Road, Marathalli. Bang outside Ivy-the unwind island, & Opposite Prestige Tech Park (JP Morgan).

The Interceptor is stationed here during non-peak hours, typically between 11am & 5pm.

We were hoping to run into some interceptors on the Mysore-Bangalore route, didnt get any in our lane. Though we saw them in the opposite lane.
The cars dont seem to be too scared of them, I was tailing a Swift doing about 130.
