Cops (& Interceptors) in Bangalore

Well, just thought of listing few places where i hav noticed interceptors positioned near my locality (the BIAL airport road)
From MVIT College junction towards city
1. Opp. BSF gate towards city (target - vehicles coming up the slight climb near Air Force Station, near the runway)... (time: 10 am to 2pm)
2. Near Nitte college crossing towards airport (target - vehicles crossing the palanahalli area) time: 4PM to 6-7PM
3. Middle of the Yelahanka Bypass Road - towards airport (target - vehicles coming from under the railway track and the turning) time: 3Pm to 7PM (this is a regular slot for interceptors, the open stretch of the bypass road is really inviting)
4. Next to Vidya shilp school towards city ( target - vehicles coming from BIAL from the other end of the yelahanka bypass road) time: 3PM to 7 PM
The same interceptor changes location 3 and 4 multiple times during the collection window
5. After mekhri circle near the entrance of palace ground towards city (target - vehicle coming up of the mekhri circle underpass) very rarely but (bad luck, u never know when hits hard)
well all the location and timing listed is based on my observation, i might have missed few information, please update if any...
such "info" on other known stretches monitored by interceptors wud be highly appreciated....

The stretch b/w hennur signal and nagawara is really inviting one. I used to cross 100 in this stretch easily. But last few months (the collection window) an interceptor used to stand there at the end a curve at a spot which is not really visible earlier. they had a superb time netting any where b/w 10 -20 vehicles every hour in the peak office hour time. Worse still if u try to escape without stopping at the signal of the cop (who would be brave enuf to stand in the middle of the road).. ur number n description wud be relayed to the next signal where u wud be caught definitely (pants down ;P)... Nowadays they have cut down the trees at the corners so u can easily decide whether to go for it or not ...bike thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about my bike

Got caught here on 13th. Rs.300 gone. Funny thing is I had posted about this spot few pages back and I get caughtOriginally posted by hifisharu View PostI've seen the interceptor on :
1. the stretch connecting Windsor Manor towards infantry rd, opp Le Meridian
I was doing 74kmph and it is supposedly 40kmph zone. Yeah right! why don't you add two more lanes and restrict it to 20kmph? You will get more money
Bloody useless cops

my advice would have been to ask the cop to show you the posted speed limit...because on that whole stretch of road ive never seen one...Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostGot caught here on 13th. Rs.300 gone. Funny thing is I had posted about this spot few pages back and I get caught

^ There is one near Windsor Manor. No use arguing with these sicklings. Also, I asked him about the range of the radar. He said 250m-1500m
Not sure if slowing down in the left corner would help. Is the corner tight enough for the radar not to spot?
I just told them I know its a nice money making enterprise for you, how much is the fine? PCs tried chatting up and all, I went straight to the SI and paid Rs.300. These idiots shouldn't get the money as far as possible.

Those guys are absolute scum. While returning from Nandi Hills, me and a couple of friends of mine were caught jumping the signal. After a bit of haggling and lying that we weren't from B'lore he reduced the price and warned us to stay under the speed limit. Just to go with the act, one of us asked him the speed limit and he said its 80kmph. On asking if its 60kmph for 2 wheelers he replied with a straight face that its 80 for all.Originally posted by RedApple View Postmy advice would have been to ask the cop to show you the posted speed limit...because on that whole stretch of road ive never seen one...
Thats not the end of it. He relayed the message, on his walkie, to the other cops on that stretch to stop us for some reason or the other and make a quick buck like checking papers, improper plates etc. What amazing love for his buddies!

Ive got caught twice already, i just slow down wherever they are rumored to be. I really wanna give the finger to these guys and tell em to piss off.Originally posted by NitinGirish View Post^ There is one near Windsor Manor. No use arguing with these sicklings. True. Used to happen between Hebbal & K.R Puram Stretch on ORR, before BEL Corporate Office. Dimwits ended up creating traffic jam during evening rush hour
Wrote a mail to Bangalore Traffic Police. Got no reply but I don't see them ever since

LoL! Before you pull my leg, I agree it might be coincidence.

today i was going from the hebbal flyover towards the lotus yamaha showroom (towards mekhri circle) to collect my registration card. I was going in a speed of 50 km/h but suddenly some people took there bike in front of me in a speed of arnd 60-70 km/h. So i had also ripped my bike at 60-70 km/h. Suddenly i saw a police interceptor jeep. I was pissed of by seeing them & had started to hav prayers because i had remembered that i had forgot my license in my home & as i hav told earlier that the RC is with the showroom people. But luckily the police didnt stopped me or any other person.
Now i dont know why they didnt stopped me
I think they didnt stopped me bcoz almost every person was speeding at the speed i was. Even when i had saw them i had reduced my speed to arnd 40-50 km/h
anyway i would say that my luck was gud at that timeLast edited by madhav krishna; 03-13-2010, 02:25 PM.NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT
