U guys should come to Hyd. No one has ever stopped me for overspeeding or anything of that sort. Once i was caught for triple riding when i was driving lazily near a traffic signal. I do speeds of over 120 kph fully crouched past the interceptor that too in city limits. I have seen only 1 interceptor here though. They havent ever tried to stop me. If by chance some cop catches u 50 or 100 bucks is what it takes to make him shut his mouth.
I had plans of settling in Bangalore after i get a job. But looks like coz of such cops i have to think again. Hyderabad seems better to me.

why waste 50-100 bucks on a cop for no fault of ours? that can get us 1-2 litres of Shell petrol = 80 km of riding fun!

^^LOL, no offence but seriously, this ain't something we should be proud of. Frankly, this is one of the reasons why "bikers" have a negative image in the eyes of the society. This also proves how inefficient our law enforcement set up is. I have to say this, but we, as members of a community whose primary motive is to promote safe motorcycling in this country, should set an example for the average joe rider. This is the least we could do for the love all of us here share, "Motorcycling"

Again, this is just my personal opinion. no offence.

LOL! I too used to rip there sometimes .. That flyover was a totally unnecessary thing.. its a pretty deserted intersection most of the times... wonder why they spent 3-4 yrs building that flyover to "ease up traffic" there when there was virtually no traffic..

+1 on that. I am personally a bit shocked that how can someone be proud of doing 120 in the city.

Iam not proud to say that. Doing 120 in front of the interceptor a couple of times was around 8 months back that too coz i was in an emergency. Since u guys are quite frustrated that the cops catch every now & then i gave a simple example of how the hyderabad cops are and how bad the system is here. They dont even bother to send a challan to the house. They do catch bikers at times but leave them for as low as 10rs at times. FYI whenever i go out i maintain speeds of below 70 kmph on 4 lane roads wearing the necessary gear. In traffic i never cross 30-40 kmph and drive saner than most of the people out there. My intention was to show how bad the system is in hyderabad. U guys would be shocked to see how badly people drive on hyd. Unorganised races, racing on opposite direction without the use of brakes and slowing down only through downshifts, unorganised drag races early in the morning, racing through betting (prize money goes as high as 60k at times), stunting in the traffic without ANY gear etc etc. I was invited for all these many times. But i refused openly and also warned them. Also for one of the races the police were bribed for the permission.
And coming to motorcycling part i had taken the initiative to promote xBhp in my college. Went to our college Principal for taking the permission to put a few xBhp posters in the notice board and spreading the importance of safe biking. But i was refused the permission in moments and was suspended for a few days.

My college road is now 4 lane highway. Still it is risky but not as before.
And iam driving slowly these days.

Btw i dont have so good bargaining skills as u have.

Does this mean any vehicle can travel at any speed on any lane?
Noticed this as well yest. Does this mean that 80 is the speed limit for all lanes ?

The stretch from corporation circle to Kasturba road.. the road which runs alongside Kanteerava stadium with Cubbon park on the other side.. This stretch is where many people are caught.. good stretch for ripping I must say .. first time I saw them I was almost caught.. fortunately I noticed the intereceptor from far away and kept my p220 under 40 as soon as I entered the stretch.. Watch out for this place on all weekdays in the daytime.. I usually dont see them in the evenings after 3-4pm..
I do travel on this stretch at times, but its only in the venings, post 8.. So have never seen any interceptor stationed thare.. will be careful next time on..

No! They've put up boards at not so frequent intervals stating speed limits as: 40 for HTvs, 60 for 2-wheelers, & 80 for cars.. They've erased the stuff painted on the roads probably because that was lane speed limit, which they probably thought didn't make sense or something..
Word of caution: Kepp your speed well within limits, & don't mess with the cops stationed at interceptors. They're outrightly rude..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                        • Strange Incident!

                          A strange incident occured today!
I was driving my car back home from the airport, when cops stopped me right outside Chikkajala Police Station.. I hadn't jumped the signal before the PS, & pulled over when they ushered me to.. 1 of the cops asked me casually for my DL, which I showed..
Then he noted my car's registration number on a piece of papar, & asked me if i had committed any traffic violations! He asked me to get my violation history checked at the PS (there's a counter for it ).. The fellow checked my car's violation history & gave me a clen chit.. The cops left me after seeing the clean chit..
I wonder if this has happened to someone!!

God save us from Bangalore Cops, & their ways unoque ways of harassment..

They are not allowed to stop you unless you have committed a violation. But of course, things will get ugly if you start quoting the law. Anyway, they let you go without doing anything else.

Not sure if I would consider this as harassment anyway.

you can check if you have any violations on a particular vehicle online also at the karnataka traffic police website by keying in the vehicle number..

well..lucky that they did not blame a non existent rule break on you..

that airport stretch in a nuisance ,the other parts of the city are much better than before.
