the cost is for a single bulb+single ballast.(55W).
But I cant believe the fact that 35w HID == 55w HID in light generation
I thought 20 w difference in consumption will result in reasonable difference.

    Few more questions:
in case if I am going for 35w HID on both beams how will I use pass ?

I will consider 35w+35w since 35w hid is cheaper than 55w for me
but I think the pass will be a problem, also the cost involved for relay etc will be too high , if I am correct??
55 w will give higher lumen output but produces a lot of heat and takes lot of current to start .

pass will be problem as hids take time to reach max light output and if you just flash hids for few secs it also shortens bulb life .

relays arent expensive , cost around 200-250 rs and they should be included with the hid kit for the price you are paying .

What you can do is either (1) 35W HID + 35W HID = 70W or if you want to keep the high beam stock, go for (2) 35W HID (LOW) + 55W Halogen (High) = 90W. It's won't drain the battery.

From the first day of reading this thread I am considering an HID upgrade on my 220.

Here is what I wanna do:

a 55W 4300K HID on the low beam (I will get the bulb + ballast for Rs 3500).
I would like to maintain the high beam as stock.
But is there any way to achieve pass beam with this combo.

I am not considering full time twin beam
    since :
    55W HID+55W Halogen = 110 W consumption.
    or
    35W HID + 35W HID = 70W consumption

These two of them will be an over load??

I think a 55W single beam will be sufficient for me.
    But pass is the problem.

can I use the pass (which lasts only few seconds) along with the 55 W HID on the low beam?

    please advice

4300K wasn't available in branded kits. Nevertheless I bought a 4300K bulb later.

Still I don't find a huge difference in improved visibility during fog, compared 6000K, and anything below 4300K is again is too ugly to be used a headlight.

BTW down here, in this part of the country (bangalore and around) we don't have fog!

though I like it, have the cops not gotten hang of this yet ?
its not just illegal, it may confuse the person behind you that u r driving in a direction opposite to his... also red is used for a purpose cause in the dark it is the red color which has a frequency high enough to be visible over a long distance...

My high beam is so circular in shape only because the beam is set too low. If your beam is an HID, it should form a circle when pointed to towards ground.

Apart from that, you are asking for trouble in the form of someone hitting you from the rear due to either lower visibility of your taillamp or the distraction caused by the changing colours or non-standard tail lamp colours.
+1 It's better not to touch the tail lamp.

We just need to paste 2 strips of blue LEDs. A DPDT switch, that's it. Anyone willing to do that in Bangalore, I can work on the bike.
