Weird!! Pulsar 135 LS produces 13.5PS@9K rpm while this bike produces [email protected] rpm. Yet another race for one model of same company butchering the other...

This is will start another flaming thread cursing Bajaj - similar to the Pulsar 135 thread. I am not praising Bajaj for this move.

Instead of doing this, they can upgrade Avenger - More chrome, 220 engine and it will be more meaningful. Whats the point of producing 1000 variants of a bike with 10cc difference and under a common name ?

Bajaj is trying all possible ways to become sales leader but still can't.

Tagging the bikes with a cheap price tag may not bring a positive image to all the buyers. I think the HH's 'stickering' revisions is much better than the 10cc differences.

Dumping pulsar to lower CCs and upping Discover to higher CCs...what is the point ?

i fail to understand the motive behind this exercise??

                  - a frugal 150cc engine??? then i would spend on the 135LS and enjoy better looks and performance

                  - a family name??? my dad rides the discover 100, bade bhaiya the 125, so now its time for me to ride the discover 150???

                  - yeah, maybe if they emphasize a lot on the price, then they can sell the point that its a 150cc!

My offerings to the gods of speed -

                    Confused segments

                    150cc Economiser bike or a 150cc Performance bike..which category???

Shame on Bajaj...guys u really are disgusting in designing

I don't see any reason as to why this won't b successful. Discover 150 offers the power and torque like a 150cc bike ( power figures are similar to Unicorn and torque is similar to other 150cc bikes), offers efficiency of 100cc bikes ( not exactly, but close to it), and costs only as much as HH Glamour. Why would one buy other bike? And this is very focused bike. Bajaj has made a very good move pf distinguishing Pulsar and Discover. If you want performance, go for P135, if you want Economy, go for Discover 150. And Pulsar 150 is the king with Carb update. I don't even see cannibalization happening. Remember D150 does not even have a tachometer. That's for cutting prices. So if you are on a tight budget but want something more than a commuter, this is the bike. Its a great move by Bajaj and pricing will ensure that this is as successful as D100. And remember one thing, D100 is not a cheap bike yet it is selling like hot cakes. The reason is quality of product and not cheap pricing.

If its 149.xx CC then we can call this as a 150 CC Bike
but here the spec sheet shows 144.8 CC so Disco... 150 is in its own segment called 145 CC

As I see it, one killer move from Bajaj!

I always felt Bajaj took a wrong step of stopping XCD135 and continuing with the Discover 135 after the launch of Pulsar 135. XCD 135 would have catered to the commuter section of 125-135cc segment with the Pulsar 135 catering to the younger and performance seeking lot.

Similarly, with this bike, anyone who wants to own a very entry level 150cc bike at an astounding price of 55 odd Ks on road.
Imagine a 150cc price at the price of a 100cc (well hondas twister and passion have breached this figure, ironically) returning you immaculate pulling power and expected 60-65kmpl of mileage at an all inclusive weight of 120 odd kilograms.

Moreover, I really dont see further 'eating up of each others share' between Pulsar 135 and Discover 150 as Pulsar 135 and Discover 135 were selling at almost similar price tags. (Assuming that Bajaj will stop Disco 135)

This bike could be considered an existing Discover 135 with extra capabilities at similar or even lower price tag. Pulsar 135 going crowd will still go for Pulsar 135 with the Discover 135 crowd upping themselves to this one. Remember its almost around 25-35k Discover 135s which Bajaj used to sell.

Moreover, this bike is kept different from Pulsar 135 as the specs speaks loud and clear. This would be more of a sedate performer (13ps) with extra load carrying capability(12.75Nm) as compared to Pulsar 135 which is an out and out performer.(13.5ps & 11.something Nm)

But I have been admiring Bajaj for the way they are working hard to reduce the weights of their bikes. This bikes tipping at 120 odd kgs on the scale is really one feature I am looking out for.

Good that the two 150 CC engines are diffrent on two bikes not like the HH's xtreme and hunk.

this thing will do good in numbers for it's relaxed power (max at 7500) and the famous word "average".
