^^ Less power but more torque than P150. Pulsar is the 'performance' brand of Bajaj, while Discover is the 'honest', 'relaxed riding' brand.
And, I appreciate the sharp focus shown by Bajaj toward each segement.
This bike will surely sell like hell especially at that price.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

But guys look at the price point which it is offering the DISCOVER 150,
its surely going to benefit the consumers a lot, in a way as Bajaj wanted 100cc segment to be vanished they are helping the consumers to grow and upgrade IMO better than the Hero Honda upgrades.

Discover 150 @ 50k on road is priced 1k less than Passion Pro. It will be way too much exciting to see the commuters shift higher in the ladder and start appreciating a bike with enough power for city and highway commutes. Better overtaking and braking making drives more safer.Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

Full bodied milk:1ltr:1.8:2.2 ltr lmao. Please do not indulge in brand-bashing, think of it this way, Bajaj is a company, whose objective is to make money, they launch many bikes in the same segment just like HH and honda, to take control over the market,Originally posted by krUnIzZlE View PostSee, i dont think you are 100% wrong, but you are not 100% right either.
Heres why:
your saying that they have a WIIIDDDDEEEEEE range of the same bikes is a good thing right? in some cases thats good. BUT the customers now a days want something different, a change perhaps. They dont want something just upgraded with a few more CC's and thrown into market. Another thing, most people who buy higher CC bikes, about 80 to 85% are usually from 16 to 26. Because after that, most of the people focus on average wali bikes and their jobs, wife, kids etc. One good example would be the TVS JIVE (dont laugh lol, its not funny) they came into the market with something new and completely different. the public is not saying to bajaj that they shouldnt come out with all these 10CC differentiated bikes. But to also add new bikes instead of just doing minor changes to the 2 popular bikes they have and throwing it back into the market...
I hope you understand.

You are no one to decide what customers want, Bajaj have done much research before launching many products, they have professional staff to think about this stuff before launching a bike. If customers do not want this bike, no would buy it right ? To get your answer go to the nearest bajaj showroom and check how many bookings the bike has.

Lots of hue and cry were made here when they released their 100 cc discover and people called it yet another discover !! or something. Bajaj ended up beating the record of selling this model in 5 figures in the least possible time.
Me is No fan of em but praise their daring steps. Afterall, they are the only bike maker here to own 34% stake in an european sports bike company and will overtake them for sure in near future.

Bajaj simply is now coming out with more and more VFM products and at every niche of the desi bike market
The P220 dtsi is a VFM performance bike, while this is a VFM 150cc commuter bike. THe only other commuter 150cc are the likes of unicorn / achiever which cost another 10k more :P I dont think an owner of such a bike would spend 10k in maintainance even in 3 years :P, on top of that bajaj parts quite cheap.
Also to be honest, even if parts in bajaj dont last enough, it still is much cheaper on the pocket than an HH. I used to own a cbz-xtreme and the parts for it were expensive enough and they didnt really last too long to be justified.
Bajaj's focus is now to fill every nook and corner of the price bands in the market with great VFM bikes, rather than going by how many cc's.
Plus most of the commuter folks on indian roads aren't bike savvy. People swear on splendor as a brand, and its the same for discover / pulsar brands of bajaj. Its much easier to stick with a brand that people are familiar with than create something new which people might not take to.A man's testosterone level is directly proportional to bhp that he's using on his motorcycle.

10 years down the line....... Bajaj ad, " Get ready for the all new Bajaj Discover 1000cc".
It will still have the same tank and headlamp cowl.
Commuter friendly 1L bike, mileage 60kmpl (ARAI certified)
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Im waiting for the Pulsar 160cc or 165cc or 170cc watever it is
..Bajaj r u lissening?
AFAIK i know a well informed person working for d govt regarding our indian traffic conditions and bikes being produced in india.Like he consults manufacturers and tests bikes b4 dey hit the indian roads. He told me that he had worked for bajaj and he had never seen such a cheap n lousy R&D wing in his life.Just bcuz bajaj is indian they think dey can read indian conditions well n launch any bike..
Im not here to bash bajaj or favor oder manufacturers..i respect bajaj for deir pricing since dey hav so called "aam junta in deir mind"..As for japs bikes dey r always costly n wud b cuz of many factors..the hero honda's manufactured b4 2005, wer with 50% localised parts and oder 50% imported from japan hence still u can c very reliable splendors, cbz etc..
The guy told bajaj is using locally manufactured parts dat aint reliable at all n give up very soon..sum myt have exceptions!! And for Honda's and suzuki's , Hero honda's all have chinese parts now
peace!!In A War Only Men DIE!!
