Hi Everyone, This is a bit very old thread but still for people who keep looking for help, I will post some information here.

Rather than going for a GoPro you can go for SJCAM 4000 or SJCAM 4000 wifi. you can check the youtube videos for reviews . I would suggest to check "Techmoan" reviewers test for unbiased feedback.

SJCAM 4000 does come with all harness and mounts so unlike Gopro you don't have to buy anything separate, Also it is very similer to GoPro and Cheaper . Also there are more cameras you can find on the mentioned reviewers youtube channel.

PS. I am not advertising this product for my benefits, I am just another biker and a photographer so just trying to Help. Cheers.

Regards.

SJCAM that is on flipkart is fake one. Yes Nandi from B'glore stocks original and can be found on Snapdeal.
The easiest way of differentiating fake is:
1) Pack will mention SJCAM, fake one would be written HDDVR (something like this)
2) SJCAM would be written under the lens on the item, fake one wont have it.
3) The casing is thicker in original one.

Clickpro is another company that is available on Snapdeal

Okay so., lot of discussions happening over here., I will share my part of the re'search' ...

Go Pro:

The hero 4 released recently costs around 12.4 k and is available for retail in India.
Here is the price list I found on a FB site., reportedly GoPro India's..

The basic version has its own specific cons,
Can't be removed from housing.
No LCD so No live preview
No Wifi too
No external Mic option
No removable battery
Fixed Timelapse interval
1080p has no 60fps (neither SJ4000 has)

But,
the basic Hero4 do have
1. 720p Superview
2. Auto Low light
both of which are featured in Hero4 series
Check the difference w/ and w/o AutoLow light in a Youtube video (can't able to find link). Its hugeeee!

and as quoted by someone., StereoVison seems to the official reseller...

SJ4000,
being the next common option., it is available in flipkart for ~14k (1.6k higher than Hero 4)
and also through Ebay and other options.

Here's one :
A direct comparo of SJ4000 and HERO3+

A seller in FB , Nandi Cameras
, claims to have stocks of originals though the price is not quoted. At least, if with flipkart, we can get some sales support and replacement.
And, there is now a section for Action Cams in the site, if someone have missed it. It has pretty much all the branded ones.

Apart from this,

HD Wing Cam
primarily created for RC flying., can just be an option.
Reviews are both positive and negative., but it is available at around 3k with supp to 32 GB and has around 3 hrs recording time, long as a finger & wide as two.
One thing I noticed in review videos is that this camera fails when directly facing the sun.
If for these kind of cameras, lots are available for FPV RC flying.

And there were lot of other ones in Ebay.. keychains, glasses, pens, nothing useful.!
And then found this,

Velocity Clip
- A relatively new startup and a nice product.
It basically turns your phone, which has competitive recording quality with Hero and others, to a action cam.
You can check out the videos in Youtube and reviews. Its pretty sturdy and useful.
If not as action cam mount,, it will useful as a perfect and reliable handlebar mount.

Luckily I've got a Xperia Mini lying in my desk without any use.
So, for its small size, I thought it would make perfect sense and I've ordered one.
Mine is on the way from US. Have ordered from their US site itself. Came around 3.4k with a discount code.

I'll add more, as my re'search' in finding one, atleast till I can afford a Hero, goes on!

There is inbuilt mic but that takes too much of wind noise. But at slow speed its quite clear.
This is the only difference between this and GoPro, in the latter you can add microphone to the camera through an adapter.

Regarding accessories, if we take the mounts, yes all are direct fit.

Going to find some snow and make small video of the whole trip
I'll upload and post the video tomorrow.

This is a Still from the video I made using Chest Mount.
I was sitting straight, no crouching on tank.

No edit, Raw snapshot.
Avoid the side fogs. I left my Anti-Fogs at home that day and the rain + cold weather caused it.

Video setting was :
1080p : 60fps

Helmet Top Mount :

Image edit : Only Color correction.
This is also a still from video. Same Day.

P.S. = Image quality for both the images has been decreased to 80%.

P.P.S = Right click on Image, Select View Image to see proper 1080 / Large.

Re: Dash/Helmet cam

I've been through almost all the post (I guess).
People with Tight budget GoPro 4 is out in Indian Market for 13k.
Yes the GoPro Accessories are a bit expensive but there are Third Party option also if you can Trust their sturdiness and reliability.

I've personally seen iSaw, Liquid image, something called HD7000, SJ4000 of different riders on road and Yes a GoPro 3 & 3+.
But yes if you are not in mood for GoPro by any reason. I would suggest you to stay away from GoPro. :P
Once you use it for video, photo, burst mode. You might hate others.
For the Quality, stability and name.
prateek2210
Internet if full of DIY for GoPro mounts.
Chest Mount is very easy to make and would hardly take your 50-80rs and 40-60 minutes of work.
I was making one but then ended up on GoPro.com :P (I'm a bit lazy, the stuff to make chest mount are still lying near keyboard while I'm typing this )

And Chest mount is seriously useless if you have a Big Wind Visor like Pulsar220.
If you want I can send you a Pic or Video of the same angle.

Adhesive Curve / flat mount, Handle Roll Bar, Monopod (The rod thing), And Black Buckle, J-Hook is all you need.

Rest are all useless. (I have a Chest Mount, Fetch - Dog Harness, Gooseneck type of. And they are all useless)

The J-Hook for GoPro costs 1.5k and I have 3 cracked with me already. :/
Its seriously costly if you have a hole in pocket like me.

P.S. = Go for "GoPro Tether", It can save your camera if somehow the double tape fails. Very useless to save your precious camera.
