Yes Prajnyan , you were right ofcourse .. I just expanded your words itself . Are you having open chain of o-ring type , or closed regular rolon type chain ?

I've never used my bike without chain guard, my bikes sprocket lasted 32000km with chain guard on.

Sz-r comes with a plastic chain cover so its closed type and yes it mentions rolon on it. But when I see chain links and rollers they are big, so are they o-type?

Ohh nice ! plastic is a really good idea for chain covers I think .. no rust , less noise , no dents , lighter , no paint scratches and cheaper to replace .nI don't think SZ has o-ring type chain , but you'll need to confirm that . You can easily see the rubber rings between the roller & side-plates on close inspection . It is important for the owner to ascertain this because the two chain types have totally different maintenance needs and procedure . Bigger/thicker rollers & sprockets only indicate higher load rating of the chain drive system .

ya, i thought sturdy plastic was to save cost as well as last few years, but never imagined so many uses, then why dont other manufacureres go for it?
Gave my chain a close look today while lubricating from the gap.
I dont think its oring. It exactly resembels the bigger chain in this picture.

Dunno , some marketing guy thinks that bikers don't like plastics maybe ?
No this is not o-ring type , in those there is a tiny gap between the inner and outer side-plates where you can clearly see the black rubber rings on close inspection . This is an exploded view of it ...

                Wanna know why chain brakes?
Is it because of lack of maintenance or excessive wear?
Is there any relation between chain service life and breakage?
May be its all dumb question but i need to know 'cause my chain is worn out but sprockets are ok.
So I'm thinking of using it (chain) until the sprockets wear out.
