Saddle sore 1000 (1600 kms)
Dear Riders,
I am planning to do a Saddle sore 1000 on December 2017 or January 2018. But I am confused, which route to choose. I prefer round trip.I believe in India, especially in South India, doing Saddle sore 1000 is difficult as the roads are narrow and straight roads are only a few.
I am from Udayamperoor, Ernakulam district. So I will start my ride from Udayamperoor. My bike is Classic 350.
Many people already completed this task. But I don't know how many from Kerala have done this. Kindly suggest a better route to do Saddle sore 1000 (1600kms).
I know this task is risky. But I would like to try it. Ofcourse no rash driving.

Route is subjective I reckon. Not sure of Kerala routes. But you can check this link:Originally posted by anand006 View PostDear Riders,

My sincere suggestion is, spend the same amount of time and money on some peaceful ride, instead of something insane like this!

Iron butt challenge
Hi Xbhpians.
Wish you all a happy republic day!
Is there someone who has completed the iron butt challenge here? I stay Bengaluru and own a beasty Duke 250. Could someone guide me in detail the procedure and right way to secure the IBA certificate?
Many thanks in advance![emoji4]

Re: Iron butt challenge
I reckon the rules of the game have changed for rides in India. I am not sure, but there is a facebook page for IBA rides in India and you have to go through them before attempting. My personal opinion is, you can invest that money and effort on a beautiful trip instead of spending on this risky, insane ride.Originally posted by KTM_Gene View PostHi Xbhpians.

My suggestion is, upon retrospection, this insanity is not worth the risk, especially on our roads & rules-adherence situations/conditions. Instead utilize same fuel, money and energy for a relaxed touring and enjoy beautiful locales.

Re: Iron butt challenge
I have done the 2k n 2.5k and 1k per day for 10 days (completed 5 then gave up). Most of these are not certifiable in india but I did send them the documentations.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostPlease visit IBA india facebook page for more details.

I agree with experimentalhead that IBA challenges are becoming more of speed / chase the clock instead of endurance riding that they are ment to be. Considering the large number of enthusiastic biker out there on weekends, and today's conditions i strongly recommend touring over SS challenges.I Ride - L12 Busa

Re: Iron butt challenge
That's a remarkable mile munching in any country, especially in India. But, you are right, those rides/ certificates are not applicable in India by IBA.Originally posted by harish.krovvidi View PostI have done the 2k n 2.5k and 1k per day for 10 days (completed 5 then gave up).
