They will look good in the first, but stays only for at most 5-6 months
    Thats the main concern !

Scratching the alloy stock Black color of P220 in Sand-Paper is I guess Pain in the Hand !
I don't think it will take less than 1-2 days with hell lot of time + hard hand.

And if no scratch then the Paint is just a guest for some months. !

So I'm gonna approach to SMG Customization, Thane, Maharashtra.
(Found him on facebook via xBhp member "Sanjay Kotyan". Sanjay got his P220 alloy's painted too.)
And first I'm gonna confirm everything with him
First I was Scared But then We Made a Deal

if you do it properly, then one can of VHT wheel paint will be enough for both the alloys. And it will cost you around 1800.
But you need to rub the alloys properly with the sand paper first, other wise it will come off.

And 4k is too much for a painting. And that too those paints who cannot withstand so much of mud and sand of the roads.

Yah that paint will stick to the plastic also. no doubt about that.
but you need to do a lot of rubbing, and remove all the black paint first from the fairing. That will be a huge work i guess

if we get a single scratch on the fairing it kills us so how to scrap it completely its almost impossible, anyway can try out the alloy thing but waiting for a Diy to be on a safer side,
btw i had used this spray can of 250rs to paint my computer cabin black but it peels off easily even if slightly scratch it with our nail
and theirs a area for painting automobiles in bangalore just like sp road for computers do you know that area name?

If you are talking about automobiles and all in Bangalore, then it is J C Road.
But you will not get the spray paint cans there, as these are all imported ones.
But you will find good paint shops in J C Road.

Remember one thing, wheel paint is a lot different than normal paints. because of the fact that the wheel gets the worst mud and the sands. So only buy Wheel paints from online if you are going to paint your alloys

                Use ComPaint

I have used com paint many times to paint and also touchup my bike (2004 Pulsar 180 Dtsi ) alloys and chain cover.
No issue in paint sticking to metal surface , shine is also good. Technique to use spray paint remain same as mentioned is some previous post.
spray from a distance , do 2-3 coats , I remember they dries within 15-20 mins easily.

If we use sandpaper to rub the surface it might create minute scratches on surface which might prevent to paint the surface in proper finish . I would recommend to use a new paint directly on the old paint , try this on a smaller area without removing the wheels and if results are satisfactory then you can proceed with rest.

Getting a good quality golden color can be tough job , I just checked com paint website Aeroaids Corporation - Com-Paint Touchup Spray Paint, Aerosol Spray Paint Manufacturers but couldn't find golden color , you can also try shades from Cars.

I found many people on Fb & xBhp. They have done a good paint job themself with cans and the paint remain there for long term. all more than 8-9 months.
But no one cares to reply back when I ask the process :x

                        Can you ?

I think this is the procedure ?
                        1. Use sandpaper to rub ? Or Shall I do without sandpaper
                        2. Shall I use a primer ?
Which primer to use : Red Primer, White Primer, Grey Primer ?
                        3. Spray paint the color, 1st coat of very light, 2nd coat & 3rd coat with 20-25 min. of internal (I'll keep the alloy in sunlight for drying)
                        4. Let it get dry in sunlight in a clean place to avoid dust .

                        Anything else?

Anything to do applied after the paint is done ?

I seriously wanna do it so that I can save some money by DIY, and get a riding jacket soon !

I guess we all must be aware of the type of material & color Pulsar 220's alloy & front shockers are.
I'm gonna paint alloys & front shocker (Black base only)

I was waiting for some positive response from many people @ many places from so long, but it was really sad no one replied.
Gonna start it tomorrow anyhow, max to max it will be some more money & time waste.
I'm gonna do this color tomorrow (See attachment)

                          Re: Custom-Painting Alloys !

Simply painting with a spray paint can wont last. No matter how good you prepare the rim or how good you paint doesn't matter, it wont last.

Normally what painters do is prepare-paint-protect(clear cost).

I think stock alloys aren't just painted, they are powder coated.

Edit: powder coating : Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin". The powder may be a thermoplastic or a thermoset polymer. It is usually used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint.

I am glad you are getting into this DIY. I just came across this thread. Have you completed the project or yet to start?
Let me know. I did a DIY painting job on my Pulsar like 2years back. I can help you in this DIY if you are still into it.

@others interested to change the color the alloys and not interested in DIY, I suggest powder coating which is long lasting, time saving and economical.
