PS: changing to R15 tyre set... could anyone tell me the rate of these tyres in chennai?
Good job mate. Am stressing it again here, as long as the jetting is proper there will be no over-heating of any sort. Use proper oil and ur good to go. Pulsars generally have good lo and mid, so yeah, I know how it would be!!!!
    I think Avenger has a 42T rear.

The R15 tires will cost 9xx for front and 1xxx for rear. Check the R15 ownership thread for details. I got from RAJA tires, Royapettah.

currently as of now, the engine is running a wee bit lean and is on the stock air filter... this helps the engine breathe a little better during run in... so once this is done i would upjet it... and as i said earlier, current speed limit is 50-60, i guess i wont be overheating the engine(correct me if wrong)... and i'm using 20W50... is that sufficient??? any engine oil preference for fully synthetic oil?... my gears have become taller so i guess its one with more teeth than what i had before...

Yeah a 20W50 is more than sufficient. But DO NOT switch to synth till a 4K kms atleast. Run it on mineral for first 2K, semi-synth for another 2K and then shift to fully-synth. Would help the engine bed-in better. Even if u keep ripping at 120 all day long, u wont overheat it as long as jetting, engine oil is proper! As for oils, I swear by MOTUL.

The current disc is more than enough and is all the stopping power u will ever need Hunter.

              Thats some freaky mod job...
How much did it set you back by? Did you get everything done in the original 18k budget (I guess not)
Will be nice if you can give a split of the costs

              1. parts + source

              2. labour

Appreciate your efforts in keeping the thread updated with any new findings...

              Thanks,

check. point noted.... this was the same words told by Aweas, "never run full synthetic on a new cylinder".

thanks man... ROFL!.. it is freaky... today made a P200 guy go nuts... he was taunting me, one whack and i left him in dust.... he cought me in the next signal and asked what bike... i coolly replied its a 150 and started looking into the sky.... now that should make him go crazy( the next time he leaves his bike for a service, he would most probably say, this bike cant even outrun a puny 150!!!, if he's a guy from xbhp, we could most probably expect his grevences here... LMAO!!!!)

                the total cost came to
                engine components(cylinder head + gearbox + piston + bore + spark plugs) = Rs.11,000/-
                P200 carbs + manifold = Rs. 4,200/-
                engine oil = complementary..
                battery = complementary again!
labour(includes: mounting the engine ofcourse, front fork bend removal, and other petty things) = Rs. 3,000/-
retuning the exhaust = complementary( got the free flow custom made from him only)
wet clutch plates = Rs. 2,500/-(this was the last minute expense i incurred... but money well spent... till now, 120kms completed on the run in and not even one false gear or a gear slip...!!!)
so overall it came just around 21k...
also were tips for those trustworthy mechanics who worked on my bike even on a sunday(yest) till 9 in the night!... the owner may give his idea... but its THESE people who get such amazing jobs done...!! the number of silly questions i asked them... OMG!.... for every nut and bolt he installed i asked a question and he happily replied to me... one thng i noted was, whenever he replied, he stops workin what he does, explains it to me until i understand and then continued... in some places he even pracxtically showed me what could happen...!!! that was just AWESOME!... i really salute these people..!!!

This proves that things are possible if the right people come together at the right time. Now, you have a beast of a machine there. I have no doubt you will take good care of her.

                    very true!...

will be posting the performance specifications soon.... once i finish the run in, i'm planning to take her to the roller bench test at pro biking... could get a clear idea of what she's capable of...

                    PS: has anybody done it?

                        congratulations bRo!!

dude can you find out more about the battery?? how much it costs?? any dealers here in mumbai/thane?
is it a direct fit in the 180ug3?? or you altered the battery holder?? coz my battery is not able to support the HID....

U r very lucky to have pro mechanics to have done the modding for you. I and my mech were actually doing an experiment and learning in the process. tried to get the max amount of power just within 8k that was my budget..but 11k for engine components is a surprising figure..but i guess, reading your comments i feel its totally problem free mod and you are good to go.

@atul astro...dude pehle mil gaya hota could have got the 220 engine plonked in yaar!...am here in mumbai itself..

Hope you go miles on ur beauty...u just cant sell off your bike and get a new one isnt it...its not about money always...wonder if i will be ever able to part with mine...mum says marry that bike only coz spent almost most of the salary that i got on it...

the battery... yeah.... the actual cost is close to 10grands... this battery of his was taken out of his godown after hours of searching(it was taken from an R1 which had come for a replacement i suppose) and once it was charged, worked like a charm.... the height of the battery is jus half the size of the pulsar's battery and of same width(wonder how they did that...).. no idea about its availability in mumbai bro!.... but i have some problem left with my electricals... its givin me a big headache... i've replaced the RR unit and still today morning i had to push to start, old school Baby!!!.... LOL!!!

anyway, i'm getting my whole electricals reworked like the one on the stock tomorrow... so i guess it should give me starting troubles....

the funny part is that my indicator is working when the bike is off in full force.... so i still haave to figure out which electrical component has gone.....

finally... dad's come and here are the pics...

                            the battery
@me is rossi: this could give u a better idea...

                            the complete view

the kicker missing... it kindoff nice to see a P150 without a kicker... competition its is sibblings... .. but it looks odd... like some kindoff rod protruding from the inside...

the rear part.. these 140 section tyrs are not atall good... never go for them... they are kings 140/70-17"

would get pics of internals when i get the bike opened up again after the run in....

                            EDIT:
did a couple of small things today.... the stickering.... for those whom have seen my bike, it had some very stupid stickering done(all credit to my previous owner..!!!)

                            stickering removed:
                            tank restored to original stickering
                            side shield stickering removed(made plain)
rear part now reads the original 150 DTS-i(now this would make people go crazy.. )

                            stickering done:
                            exhaust pipe: "louder than god"
tank(below the text pulsar): "bike on steroids"

finally my bike gets some sensible stickering

UPDATE: bike came from first service...

                              problems faced:
engine oil leak from the bore...
                              EXCESSIVE heating!!
                              very bad initial
                              burnt clutch

                              problems corrected:
                              heating issue solved
                              oil leak corrected
                              low end pickup improved
                              clutches changed...

i have a feeling that there is a clutch slip... engine revving but speed not increasing in the same ratio... how to avoid this... now i've put the 200's clutch plates... still i think there is a clutch slip....
