Guys I've stopped using the switch ... why ? let me tell you why , it has costed me to fix it up , count is twice now ... 1st time i believe the contacts got loosened due to excessive usage which it shorted the electricals so the bike refused to fire up by any means .... push start also didn't work . , This was what the SVC told me ... charged me 585bucks for transportation and fixing it... 500rs was for the transportation ... the distance 3km .

    Second time ...

not the switch's fault but still . it seems water got in to that module and again fried my electricals ... same problem but a mech fixed it for 50bucks ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

With my (limited) knowledge, I would say -

Engine kill switch does not harm bike's engine but can drain battery based on how long ignition remains on.
If battery drains out or becomes weak, bikes having no kick start, won't fire up.

As someone just said, use it wisely only at traffic lights.
For chit-chatting, parking etc better use engine-kill-switch followed by ignition key.

But, I did not get "emergency usage" of engine kill switch.
Let's say, a fall is imminent & one kills its engine using switch.
Considering one is riding his bike say at 30 kmph on some gear; won't it be bad for transmission if one does not use bike's clutch as bike is still in gear & in motion???
Won't it jerk just the way it does when we leave leave clutch without giving acceleration???

If so, I feel it is more dangerous than letting engine be On only.

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

This is the only emergency that I can think of

Engine Kill Switch in Passions and Splendors

              Hi All,

Recently I saw a guy who has fixed a Engine Kill Switch in CBZ Xtreme. The engine kill switch comes very handy when we have to wait in signals. How easily it can be fitted in Passion Pro and Splendor Pro, even being the largest selling motor cylces, these bikes miss this useful feature. Will there be any problem in fixing the engine kill switch. Hope this thread will be an useful one for those who desperately want to fix the Engine Kill Switch in their bikes.

              Regards,
              Ashwhin.

Hey, thanks mate! Have already booked the 150R, but looking for advice from other bikers just to be sure the additional 32k is worth it for the 250R.

Like someone who asked above, i always press the front brake and dump the clutch... My friend has been doing that since the last 57000km with no trouble at all...

                              is it harmful?

Your friend is too lazy to take the hands off the accelerator and turn ignition key off?

Stopping bike by releasing clutch is not at all recommended, as it causes more stress on the clutch, gears etc.
