  • Gold Service @ Castrol Bike Zone

    Hi,

Has anyone got a Gold Service done in a castrol Bike Zone (http://www.castrolbikezone.com/services.asp)?

How good or bad is it?

    Query Approved.

I had got the gold service done many a times on my Classic 180, and it was serviced wonderfully well each and every time.

The Gold service in most of these CBZ's is good but they force you to use castrol oil only which i dont like .

If it is a straightforward service you're after and your bike is otherwise in good shape, Castrol Bike Zone makes a decent choice.

If you've got a few problems you want fixed along with your service, chances are you're going to leave there unhappy. This is based on the experiences some of my friends have had at CBZ.

you wont belive me but i have taken only 1 free service from tvs .. after that i have only used gold service from CBZ ..
they are awesome !!! i am so happy when people [my friends from xbhp too] say that its one of the best maintained RTR
i usually get a doctor pack
so it saves some money ..
                CBZ is the best but
its gold service is not always required . you can use 2-3 sliver or bronze service before you again go for a gold service

Thanks so much for all the responses... Any particular Bike Zone thats pretty good, or is there a consistency in quality maintained in all their outlets. I have one right opposite my house. This one is at the Nagawara Jn. about 5 kms from hebbal lake towards KR Puram. Any experiences from this outlet?

I did the Gold service,. They did an amazing job there. I have never seen my bike opened up so fully. The guys at Bajaj SVC have never removed my tank till date, they have never cleaned the Carb, never checked the Tappets nothing nothing. Check out the attached thumbnails.
I serviced my bike in Castrol bike zone, Audugodi, Bangalore. Quite educated fellows.
They asked me what my profession is and were shocked to see a S/W engineer talking so much crap about the bike.
Never Argue with an Idiot !!!
He will bring you down to his level and beat you with his experience.

well i too go for gold service at the bike zone..quite happy with the way they clean my baby..u cud also power1 service, just for 50 more bucks they give u gold service+power1 oil..otherwise i don't think they force you to use only castrol!! i use valvoline in my bike and always tell them not to replace the oil or get the valvoline poured without any issues..

                          First Impression after the Service.

                          Hi,

Ok the bike is back from the Bike Zone. First, got the Bike Zone sticker removed.

The mechanic checked the compression in front of me and the value was 7.8. He said for a Suzuki Fiero a value of around 10 is ideal, but since the bike is run close to 50k, this value is ok.

The tappet, he said was set to a tight value, no idea what value that was. he has now set it to Inlet = .08mm and outlet = .07mm.

Apart from this, I had the sprocket and chain changed as the old one was almost 30k kms old.

Rest were the usual Gold Service tasks.

I could not take a proper test ride due to the pouring rain at 7pm today . But the quater km i rode from the bike zone to home, the engine sounded much lighter, gears were very very smooth. Handling is much much better, this could be due a number of factors, fresh oil in the forks along with alignment(not sure what this means, the forks were not visibly bent), new bushes for the rear swing arm, straightening of rims, etc.

Just one glitch, tail light does not come on, break light works though, i guess a fused bulb which they missed, even after telling them about it. Will get that fixed tomorrow morning.

At work in night shift right now. Will reach home by 2am, and then take her for a test ride till the airport with Devilish behind me on his RTR. He needs to check something too on his bike.

Shall add my inputs after the ride.

                            mashmash,
what is the cost of gold service for Fiero ?
Is the price standardised in all CBZs?
which oil was poured into your bike?
