Man, thats really a bad accident. Took me a couple of seconds to understand the state of the bike. Seems like an achievement to bring the bike back to running condition.
Were you able to find a CBZ that can do a compression check on your bike?**MaSh**

Right!Originally posted by PatienceWins View PostThe issue with castrol bike zone is that they do not use the original spares for a bike. They used Escorts shock absorber for my Fiero though the OEM was Gabriel. After that, I was unable to use center stand because of the change in height. In my opinion, it is fine for old bikes where it is difficult to procure original spares. I would not recommend CBZ for new bikes.
Try going to them with say a Shogun and see how that recommendation stands...

hey guys .. thought about my service at CBZ and finally came to the conclusion to go and ask what did they do exactly ..
the problems were
oil leak
rear brakes were behaving worst than before
and a 300Rs bill for overhauling of clutch which was NOT REQUIRED
i went there and told them about these things and then they asked me to come tomorrow and then i started my 3rd world war !!
he said the rear brakes were fine but it couldnt stop when the bike was moving at 20KMPH !!!
so spoke to the branch owener and told him that if i dont feel satisfied i am going to take this to CBZ head..
fearing that they may lose the license they replaced my rear brake shoe
AND I WAS LIKE WHAT THE F#$!@%!# !!!!!!! IT WAS WORN OUT !!!!!!!!!!
I LITERALLY TOLD THEM '''what the f!#@ you guys think you are ?'''
they said sorry and what every ..
they even gave back my 300Rs for the SO CALLED clutch overhaul
MIND YOU THEY TOOK THAT MONEY BECAUSE THEY JUST CHECKED THE CLUTCH AND DIDNT DO ANYTHING TO IT
so now i was screeeching my rear tyre all the way to happiness ..

coz so many ppl have complained about this and i hv experienced this on my bike too ....dont know th ereal reason...or wht exactly hpnd ... but i used Motul fully synthetic oil ( Rs. 750/=) once and next time i went for servicing there was not a drop of oil in my engine. since then my bike started consuming oil... then i went in for block piston change along with clutch plates, valves...etc..then i went in through the running in process for 2000kms and it was all fine till running -in .....but now when i rip my bike it is again consuming oil.....i m totally confused wht the problem is.. now i m using power 1,.....and this drinking phenomenon happens only when the bike crosses 90 kmph mark. now my line of action is like this...on 14th of this month i will go to probiking service center...get my engine compression checked...then i will go to my usual service center and do a normal servicing, measure the amount of oil left...and this time i will put castrol 4t xtra, coz its written on castrol website that this oil reduces the bikes tendency to consume oil...and the castrol bike zone guy here in pune also recommended it....i have written a letter to bajaj also...lets see wht hpns....btw....yesterday i hv beaten the shit out of an RTR and FZS...see the bikes performance is ok...dont know where all the oil goes....and my bike doesn't emit smoke also...???

want to share about labour cost Castrol Bike zone..
just 1000 KM After my gold service from Castrol Bike zone, today I felt, my P150 is not showing best front disc braking. In wake of ride planned on long weekend ahead went to castrol bike zone and asked them to check it.
after checking the break pad, they told me, its completely gone and need replacement. strange they didn't pick it up while last servicing. could have given me a warning that its about to go.
Anyways, got it changed. took less than 60 seconds to replace it. bill read something like:
1. Brake pads: 138 Rs.
2. service 75 Rs.
Well, checking and replacing it took less than 60 seconds (they claimed their skill).. and refused to reduce the labour charges..
hey, does the part replacement generally is charged almost 50% of the part's cost with replacement taking less than 1 minute.

I am going to my local mechanic for any part change from next time. Though i will buy it from Bajaj spares first.Last edited by Nitin_traveller; 09-17-2009, 09:22 AM.

HH service centers charge Rs 150 as labour for same thing. Roadside or local mech will charge Rs 50. I dont know what Bajaj SVCs charge but they might also be expensive in this thing.Originally posted by Nitin_traveller View Post

HH charged me 45/- for rear drum brake pads replacement few month back on my Ambition135.Originally posted by jasmeetsinghchawla View PostHH service centers charge Rs 150 as labour for same thing. FYI, 38,500 kms, 4 years, 9 months ownership, maint. cost (incl clutch plate/chain sprocket set) = 3938 only....so maintainence cost is just about Rs.100 per 1000kms
HH maintainence cost is not only low cost plus also good w.r.t quality !!
