Hid projector help....

guys
i rode my bike in city today with low beam for 20-30 mins and in the highways for 20 to 30 mins too.
low beam worked wonderfully
high beam swap at city roads did shut my hid once so i didn't bother to do it again and stayed with low..
as soon as i touched the highway i did a trial high beam swap and it worked well...
i rode at speed and was on both the beams for 15 mins and had no issues...
the moral of the story is that i need to do coil rewinding again...
12 feet per pole...
but I'll wait for next 2500 kms as i changed to new oil yesterday, so opening it up will drain it...
as far as things are concerned..
i know that watts = current X voltage
so if say my bike gives 15 volts and 3 amps at normal rpms
then its 45 watts
at higher rpms
say 15 volts at 5-6 amps
90 watts...
in this case
should i use 19 gauge wire or 20 gauge wire?
as 20 gauge will have more number of turns than 19 so will it produce more amps at low revs ??

this is how i did exactly

besides..
35w h7 is very difficult to find...
any suggestions...

^^ Can you elaborate the relay connections?
And if you dont want to rewind, 35W h/l should work flawlessly.

to be honest, that voltage thing doesn't bother me..
as when the bike is in neutral, one can revv it till 12k
but practically even at speeds of 100-110 rpm is arr 7.25k at 4th gear..
i cross checked the rpm at 7-7.5k and that's about 15
so i am satisfied.
what else can i do, the battery guy would say that my rr is faulty...
i do understand that 17 is high but i am helpless with that.
ballast has a writing on it saying 11v to 17v input...
so at-least hid won't blast..
regarding halo, well let's hope for the best, n e ways if halo does blast the damage also would be far lesser than hid blowing...
@ all
is the high beam relay a problem??
should i remove the high beam relay??
or shall i try with a 35w high beam instead of 55w ??
i can use high beam for very less time even at highways...

TOO much of rain and road reflects a lot, i will click pics wen the road is dry

So what is the flashing problem? Low beam goes off? Then you need to rewind the coil, if it is not perfect.Originally posted by NANOtechnology View Posthigh beam is halogen 55w in a p220's reflector,
low beam is hid in skoda's projector..
BTW, where are the on road pics?

Wiring is correct then. If you want to drive two HIDs together, coil should be perfect, else it can be a problem. Since HIDs take time to warm up, flashing will be a problem.Originally posted by NANOtechnology View Postyes
2 grey and 1 black, 1 yellow
grey ones for coil output to rr
yellow to batt +ve and black to batt -ve...
I've connected the batt -ve to ground too...
i don't think there's a wiring error, what do you think...
yes 1 thing can be wrong (not related to rr)
if i swap to high beam frequently, my low beam goes off...
then i have to switch off the headlight and switch on again, i think since I've connected the low beam to high beam, with 2 spst relays working together, can this be a problem??
should i remove the high beam halo relay to tackle this??
so far things are okay, if i need to then I'll do coil rewinding for better amps at lower revs...
apart form flashing which is a pain.

Ok.. in that case, hope for the best! btw the RR unit has only 4 wires, nothing else right?

yes abhijeet, i know 17 is too high, but what can i do about it??
before it never exceeded 12, now its not going below 17...
i am sure that the rr is not faulty...

^^Ok.. good you got it sorted, but still I am somehow not comfortable with 17V!
@Pavan - It should be between 13-14V ideally.

oops, sorry guys
the fuse was blown...
actually in all this ac/dc think i lost my fuse box, so wen i bought a new 1 it had a 5 amp fuse inside, i bought ten 10 amps fuses separately as trial and error method was used, i forgot to replace that 5 amp with 10 amp, and that got blown...
@ abhi
i rechecked with my friends 9 amp exide batt, it never exceeded 15 at high revs...
my old puny 2.5 amp batt gives 17 at high revs
this new amaron charged battery 9 amp also gives 17 at high revs
battery is working properly, i rechecked the voltages, it goes to 17 if rpm are held very high...
I've done wiring just as i was told, coil output to grey wires, yellow to batt + and black to batt -ve..
but so far, i don't have any issues...

Slightly OT: but how much should the output voltage on the headlight line be from a stock avenger coil and a stock P180's RR??

nano mate, please beware,@ that high voltage the ballast can go kaput.so better not use it.
