MY DUAL HID SETUP............

the intensity of the high beam is very very high, hence in these images, low beams becomes invisible, but it is there and does serve the purpose very very well...

i think p220's reflector for high beam is enough that any one may need.....

NOTE:- My high beam was initially parallel to the road, but i have leveled it downwards now, so that i get least possible curses from others on highways...
low beam alignment is same as before...

i know it looks like low beam is off, but it is not, the lens can't show both in detail in my cam, so i tried some juggad, with fireworks setup...

So doctor sahab DCM toyota sealbeam is perfect IMO.

Holy cow I didn't know that...I wasted a big time in SC for no reason...
man I just learned the difference between 'lots of glares' and 'glare'.
So it means lens glare > single glare by sealbeam > lots of glares

gotcha simple and brilliant.
I think I will try hid on reflectors first and then might advance to sealbeam.

dude, first of all you need to understand that your battery is getting charged from the bike's coil

if the bike is AC/DC as almost all bikes are, there is one phase of the coil which charges battery...
and the other phase gives current to the headlight which is on ac..

so out of say 7-8 poles, 4 are for charging and 3-4 are for your headlight...
if you connect the hid directly to the battery even on a ac bike, the problem will be as follows...

1- HID won't work as your current regulator won't provide enough amps to start the hid...

2- even if it does, battery will drain faster as only 4 poles are charging it, whereas it needs 8 poles completely to avoid battery drain.

3- if you don't change your regulator, you cannot charge the battery enough to keep hid running for more than 10 mins

4- in turn if you end up changing the regulator, you will need to rewind all the 7-8 poles for charging itself (single phase), which all of us are doing so far..

i hope you get a better picture by now.

how about, get the hid powered from the battery and powering on the hid with the help of switch ?

Also for a AC bikes,the battery i am thinking is a dc ? and why to change the ac to dc for ac bikes ,if it possible to powering on hid from the battery

this is what i think,

HID set up:HID (high beam) + Halogen (Low Beam)

HID HB connect the wiring to battery + switch on and off with the help of a switch.

Halogen Low beam + connect to you default high beam.( which can also solve the flash ).

bikes low beam switch will become dummy.

No you can't . Your bike currently must be having H4 type bulb . projectors only use single beam bulb like h1 ,h3 ,h7 ,d2s etc .so if you buy hid kit now and later plan on a projector you will need to replace atleast the hid bulb also but not the ballast .

Also do note bike needs to be dc type as hid only runs on dc current . if you ride at night frequently better convert your gsr to dc first so no battery drain happens .

Chill, You can't fit as u need. Bulb can sit only in 1 particular position.


Projector is the lens and HID is the bulb. You can have both.

Go with Bi-Xenon 4300K HID on stock reflector if cops are not a problem. Else go with Single Xenon for high and halogen low beam.

1. which is the best ? projector or HID ?

2. if HID what k bulb and which is better bi-xenon or normal ?

Recently went ahead with HID on pulsar 180 UG 4.Removed the pilot bulbs and replaced them with led,saved 10w with pilot bulb

have one query,Not sure the electrician kept the hid bulb correctly.

the normal halogen right to hid? is it correct?

yes ,the dcm toyota seal beam is straight fit inside ug4 dome too,just remove the glass witha help of a hairdryer and remove the stock reflector ,which is mounted inside from the points,just pull it it will come out as the mount points are pull/push type,no fear of braking anything,so pull heard.
no the seal bems glass is the reason for its spread so if you remove the glass it it will destroy the nice spread of the seal beam,remember its NOT A MULTISURFACE REFLECTOR<SO YOU NEED TO USE THE GLASS.put it all the way in,it will match the exact hole of the dome from where you can assess the bulb as you do in a stock dome,.secure it with m seal,put the glass back on with some glue ,seal it,you are done,.forget about leveling.if u push it all the way the leveling is done by default and proper,no need to change...

that asymmetrical light cut is arais rule for india as we have right hand drive system,so in low beam the on comming vehicle is not get dazzled by the low beam,its not an error,its common over all arai certified mfr reflectors in india.in Europe the cut is opposite as they have left hand drive.

remember that a high beam should be parallel to the road.

if you ride in pitch dark roads at speed, you will realize that's its almost impossible to ride if you cannot see exactly straight, to locate the curve of the road or to see some vehicle far away ahead from you. its a nightmare.

high beam is not basically used to see the road, low beam does it, high beam shows you the way man.

any hid 3000k, 4300k, 6000k, will produce a lot of glares if used in stock reflectors


if you are not bothered about others than go ahead and do it, otherwise go for projectors, its unbeatable in providing less glares.

a round seal-beam will give better focus that the pic you've shown, but remember glare will be high only.

I'll be buying HID soon.
My stock reflector is not well angled. HB goes parallel to road. several times I have tried to adjust the screw located behind HL but the high beam doesn't seem to be descending on earth even the upper cut-off of lower beam is going parallel too. Anyways if I put an HID in HL it will give white nightmares to on-comers.

So should I adjust that reflector or get the sealbeam you have mentioned above instead? I generally don't use HB and if I do buy HID it's going to be 4300K so I think there won't be glare problem if I stick to properly angled reflector.

Can we use this Toyota Sealbeam without the glass comes with it ? (meaning only reflector thing). I think it will fit in ug4 too because they have same dome.

My whole HL assembly shaking badly over potholes...gotta fix that too...but I have no idea how to do that...SC guy said I have to change lampshade

It's your bike remember ...I have same focus in LB with stock (offcourse less intense). If you observe closely you will see it's not symmetrical and kinda looks inclined towards left. Is it happening because the HL is not 100% straight? or it's suppose to look like this and it's same with aaaalll pulsars. I'm asking this because I already bothered SC guys too much over this thing till they started avoiding me.
