Re: increase power and performance of my pulsar 220 dtsi
First of all you did not mention if its an fi or dtsi. Also before changing the clutch plates what was the top speed you ever achieved?Originally posted by Jayanth Reddy View Post

Looks like you have upgraded the spark plugs and ignition cables. Have you also upgraded relevant ignition coils? Also change your AFR settings after cleaning the carb and air filter.Originally posted by Jayanth Reddy View Postmine is dtsi... bought in 2012. i achieved a 138 top after runin period. did not cross 60kmph until first 2500km.
To me it seems like reverting back to stock is best solution which you may not like

Re: increase power and performance of my pulsar 220 dtsi
Don't worry about the ngk's and spitfire. I ran my pulsar 200 old model fine with the given mods and touched a max of 137kmph on speedo. Even the ignition coils need not be changed as these days the ones provided by the company are good enough.Originally posted by Jayanth Reddy View Postguys i am having a problem with my 220 top speed... it clocked 17k... changed clutch plates(bajaj genuine), ngk iridium spark plugs, spitfire ignition cables. rest all stock. but doesnt go over 125kmph. i am worried. can some one help me please???
Now regarding the top speed issue, lets approach it step by step.
As mentioned above get your carb cleaned and tuned, your chain should be tightened, check that the wheels are rotating without much resistance from the discs, air filter cleaned, your engine oil should be in good condition, also the top speed depends on cross winds etc. Try to hit an open highway and gun the throttle. See if this helps.
If this is not working, then there might be an issue with the new clutch plate installation. If not fitted properly they can cause the clutch to slip, one of my friend got his clutch plates replaced and later on experienced similar issues with top end and very hard gear changes. The problem was diagnosed to a slightly bent clutch plate. When he got that rectified all was hunky dory again. Try the basics first and then look into things like the clutch plates, compression etc

Re: increase power and performance of my pulsar 220 dtsi
Hi guys!!
I want to upgrade my 220 to a better performing motorcycle. What all should i consider for an upgradation, other than works related to engine mods??
For example sparkplugs , airfilters, new carbs, exhausts or anything else.
Only recently i came to know that FFEs are not legal in our country, so any other upgrades in regards to exhausts that might help?
I do not encourage an engine upgrade because it is still early and i have clocked only 14k kms so far.
So experienced riders who have done all this and are super happy with their pulsars, please suggest.
Appreciate the help

Re: increase power and performance of my pulsar 220 dtsi
I would suggest you to upgrade to a bigger bike (like duke 200) because if you account money, increased power and all parameters, then hot rodding doesn't justifies itself in our country.

Don't go for Air filter. will ruin ur engine. My neighbour who bought a ZMA has ruined his engine wid k&n. The bike doesn't start properly. even wid new ngk iridium spark plugs.Originally posted by 'nYsus' View PostHi guys!!
