Hey.. did you decide on a DSLR?

    @ others
    Suggestions would be appreciated...
i would suggest nikon d3100 (cost ~31-33k). i got myself one few weeks ago. Image quality is superb, decent peroformance at high ISO settings, you may confirm it from reviews . But its missing few common features like auto-bracketing, DOF preview, & has a low resolution lcd.

video is also its plus point (auto-focus during video is crap though), but i believe few will care about videos

Its a bit out of reach yaar... Nothing available around 25k? I don't care much for video quality...

around 25k, canon 1000D (22.k5) and nikon D3000(25.5k last time i checked) are available. I Don't have idea about other brands like sony etc.

But still i would suggest you save a bit and get a better one as these two are entry level dslr's and missing many features that you may regret latter.
also note that nikon D3100 prices are likely to drop (or may have already dropped) in few months time as it is new now, launched just last month in India.

in 30-35k range, canon 500D, nikon D5000 and nikon D3100 are available. image quality wise D3100 is the best among these as far as i know.

                          • Help me!!

                            Hi Guys,
My cousin is coming from US (Philadelphia) early December. Kindly help me in choosing between the Sony H55 and Nikon COOLPIX L110 as I guess it is cheaper there. The photos are going to be mostly of trekking and nature. Any other suggestions regarding other point-and-shoot cams with long zoom in this price range are welcomed. Kindly help me. Thanks
