Except my RJ trip, I never carried a laptop to any of my trip; reason being simple, Nelsonrigg being mounted to rear section, I can't even have my backpack to carry the laptop. I hope Viaterra rescues...

So, when it comes to fitting, no doubt, the 55 liters accommodated things quite easily; the 15" laptop including it's charger & a mouse was

But here comes the biggest surprise & I think we're about to break the myth of carrying water; I had 2 X 1.5 liter bottle and 2 X 1 liter bottle making it totally 5 liters. I initially thought CLAW could easily accommodate 4 X 1.5 liter = 6 liters or even 4 X 2 liter = 8 liters. But most things reveal only upon actual testing. This is what I found...

      This means...

So Claw, when loaded (not to brim) might accommodate about 4 X 1 liter or lesser bottles. Anyway, I didn't have 4 X 1 liters of bottle to test; so I continued by using only one 1.5 liter bottle..

But the 2 X 1 liter bottle side held very well

Again, I'm not saying Claw cannot accommodate 1.5 liter bottles when fully loaded, but, for sure some rearrangements or careful packing needs to be done. As for me, I was only testing & hence didn't pay much attention to detail when it came to packing & loading things. I believe, I can dump things & just ride away

      Some ground realities...

as how Claw appears in real time when loaded. However, let's continue the test by loading on to the motorcycle...

        Great review. Very detailed.
I feel like someone should hire you full-time for reviewing various accesories for a bike. Hoping to see more reviews from you (maybe Jackets, gloves, helmets *hint, hint*)
I feel the Claw is actually really good value for money, especially for the space, features and easy mounting. Waiting to see how it performs fully loaded on the bike.

Any ride reports of Claw doesn't it make the bike top heavy ?
Have used the colt on unicorn for 2 long rides Ladhakh and north east sufficed me well
even managed to take the beating from a flight from Guwahati to Mumbai.
One of the straps stitching is coming off. Should be a relative easy fix.
The most important thing I felt it keeps the CG very low even with all the load

Tks for your kind words; when a product is good, you can certainly see my review on it

Yes, even a saddlebag on a bike also makes it heavy isn't it ?

Think about this - Colt 37 liter Denier 600 material, costing Rs 2600 + Rs 199 for shipping VERSUS Claw 55 liter Denier 1680 material, costing Rs 2900 + Rs 174 for shipping

Like I keep saying, I don't prefer a saddle bag; I ride solo most of the time, I've been in occasion where localities jump to my rear seat with a very word on asking direction, on those lines, tail bag is a real saver. I'm not getting into the debate whether Cramster is good or VFM because, for MY requirements, for MY needs, for MY style of riding & based on MY experience, I've provided MY views/review. I simply don't like Crapster because not once, but thrice, their products failed (and I can show the pictures as well)

what's up with bag touching not touching tyre--getting scraped & all''

a simple soln which I believe many use is to have two aluminium strips put but by easy nut bult arrangement have served me well over the years with any kind of saddle bags on pulsar,r15 & now the cbr

                attached pic for ref.

but yes I do feel that the claw is indeed a VFM product & a boon for solo tourers

                  Thanks..

The idea behind the Claw was simple: Get Claw, no "jugaad" needed, simple mounting, peace of mind, can be used on ANY made in India bike..
.. and yes Maximum loading and "Maximum Value for Your Indian Rupees".

If anybody is attending the IBW 2013, look out for the VT Claw on a couple of Harley Davidson bikes..!!

Real excellent stuff. But me owning the RYNOX Nomad saddlebag, gotta say, excellent stuff, though at the pricier side, complete bang for the buck. Too lazy too post a huge review. But will soon be clawing the CLAW real soon.

                    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                      The Right side

                      The Left side

                      The rear side

Let's see how much time did we take to load the taddle bag & fasten it...

Let's put over the rain cover

and how much time did we take for the rain cover?

Now let's see some measurements... Here the scale is mounted on to the rider's seat; the scale is down by few inches than the taddle bag

Here the scale is mounted to the rear seat; the scale & the taddle bag are on the same level

                        • The test isn't completed without a ride; I rode through some real bad roads (and semi trail roads) swiftly (sometimes by standing on foot pegs too) & some good roads for over 1.8 + 1.9 = 3.7 Km precise & here're my observations...
                        • Both ends of the Claw are visible on either of the RVM, but, don't intent to say they'r wider I think the bag fits wide enough yet remain under the control/comfort zone of the rider; just doesn't stick out I guess
                        • In all probability, the bag may be slightly wider than the handlebars I guess, but I forgot to test that front
                        • The rain cover, though fits perfectly, doesn't cover the bottom potion of the bag. This is little critical because the water splashed during the rain from the rear wheel is to be certainly splashed at the bottom of the bag. Again, I forgot to take the picture. But again, this is only a compromise because if those parts are to be covered, covering up the bag becomes cumbersome, unnecessary engineering to the rain cover adds up the cost
                        • May be the bottom part of Claw can be made rain proof, just a suggestion though
                        • The bag can be moved back & front as per the convenience of the rider by adjusting the third mount in the rear which is way too good feature
                        • However the right side became a little loose & I'd to change the way the strap was wound (will be shown shortly in the pic) despite changing, it once again became loose. Something I need to learn probably as how to fasten properly. Despite these hitches, the bag didn't move a millimeter, which is a good sign

Oh aargee, you are too good..Even in a bike magazine we cant find review like this!! your meticulous attention to each and every point is highly appreciable.
So where lies the difference between the review in a magazine and this? in a mag its done because somebody is doing his or her job, but here its pure passion and extreme dedication to make it perfect. so naturally the outcome too is perfect review.
Good work aargee!! Now i am in love with viaterra tail bag and waiting to see it mounted on your RX

This is the best part I loved. Carrying the laptop hasslefree. Always thought would have to carry a bag-pack for lptop in case I go for saddlebags. I guess, this issue can be resolved using a tail bag. Atleast I can ride without any weight on me.
