Yes the mechanic gave me the same option that you can claim it in insurance but citing accident and tank will have to get damaged but the risk is on you if the claim gets rejected you will have to bare the charges of the new tank
I am still thinking about it to go by insurance route or to replace it on my cost

    .
The Petrol Tank is rusted way beyond recovery, and replacement is the only way out. Visit the local junkyard and try to pickup a good Tank for your vehicle. There is no other way known to me.
    Good luck.

Hopefully, I can add a couple of pointers and my thought with the bike -- in their chronological order.

    1. Remove fairing kits and use it as naked.
    One word. No. Don't. Period.

    2. Replace clip-ons with regular wide handlebars with a handlebar raiser. How good will this seating geometry be considering that my height is 5'9"
Yes, this trick works well. Pulsar and Duke handlebars work well and offer relaxed riding stance. They being wide, offer great leverage. The CBR by its inherent design has a neutral stance. The stance is neither committed not slouch. The perfect blend of posture and position. Sports tourer, apt.

2.(a) Will the front heavy CBR be any better with the above handlebar setup?

Yup, the bike behaves perfectly fine with this handlebar setup. It just takes a little time to get used to, in the sense the wide bars, give you excellent leverage.

    3. Can i fit the current Gixxer's LED headlight assembly or any-other?
You can fit the newer gen CBR 250's LED assembly, with some modifications, as far as I've come across. But, FWIW, no point spending thousands on this LED light setup. I'd recommend you get yourself a good H4 LED led bulb or add another pair of aux like MadDog. Makes lighting a dream.

    4. Any Option to increase the front fork height?

Was it necessary? The CBR has a soft sprung front forks. You can opt for thicker grade fork oil, i.e. 20w which makes the front end stiffer and give you even better feedback.

    Hope it was helpful.

    Good luck.

    Cheers!

    ODO :- 13500
Serviced every year as the bike is not used much its a 2014 model
In such case replacing the entire set will be better, as servicing or replacing the piston kit will not be as good as newer one. Or if its manageable replace the front first and then rear later.

Good, thank you. Apart from aerodynamics, heat also plays a big role. Fairing helps reduce temps thrown towards your leg, plus it protects the engine and sundry from dust and muck accumulation. Since, most of the wiring, tube are all routed inside the fairing, it can mean an ugly duckling, especially with that static headlight which has its separate visor cowl setup, would look like a scarecrow for sure. Just my two cents. You can also use Apache RTR 200's clip-on for a more upright posture, as the stem length of the Apache is taller than the CBR's.

    Cheers!

    Hi,

Did you had any issues with the brakes earlier(before 5 months), If you already had issues then you can go ahead with the replacement else i dont think its necessary. You can give some additional details like the odo reading, earlier issue with respect to brakes(if any) etc.

Also confirm whether he meant the entire brake caliber set or the brake pads. chances are pads might be bad due to non usage or at its end of life.

Guys! Posting after a long time for a quick info. What is the current price of ABS Brake Pads? My friend recent got the front and rear set for less than 3K which I believe is the price for non-ABS. I remember changing brake pads couple of years ago and it was 4K for both. And lastly, what complications might he face if the ABS model is using non-ABS brake pads?

Thanks Manan, Will consider the options.
