Ninja 650R - Ownership Thread

thats whats killing me should i get horse or a pony i am a new rider but my father is told me that he would buy me any bike till 6 lakhs so ppl are saying go for the 250 as your first bike but lot of them are saying that i would out grow it quickly thats why i need you guys the PROs to help me out

New rider? Don't be a fool and get the 250. Rest of the world trains on it and trust me it'll take you a long time to outgrow it if you can ride it to the max

Hi All, like a lot of people i missed the getting the bike last year... hopefully this April I will be able to book me peice 'O this rocket! in Bangalore, having never ridden a large bike (still use my CBZ-2000) till I test rode the GT650N.. I was hooked on what 650cc in my pocket can do! ...then found the ER6N!

Hey Shelton_jh I checked onthe 2012 ER6N with a guy in PB bangalore.. and he says no Idea at all..hopefully they will get this one to town, he did tell me the Black(red shock) version might make it this time for the Ninja 650 as the intrest for Black is high.

Engine heat

Could any of the owners help answer this, I have read in a few forums and reviews that one can feel the heat from the engine after riding in the city for some time, is this true? if so how much heat comes off the bike? for example is it uncomfortable riding wearing shorts?

Ashu, my two bits... since you do not have a price constraint, I suggest you test ride the GT650 and CBR 250 as it helped me make up my mind in terms of what i want to get, also do some research on peoples experience owning these bikes and a combination of the two should help narrow which bike you might want to get.

A probiking guy in Mumbai told me that ER-6N is expected soonnnnn... he infact asked me told me that I could submit a a cheque without a date and be sure to be the 2nd guy (first already reserved) to book the machine
I would book it only after understanding the whole bike (test ride report from XBHP). Love the yellow colour though

Yes it does heat up a fair bit.. Though I haven't had that problem with motul 7100.. But I can feel that now with shell advance..

And ride with shorts only if you intend to have a DIY Vasectomy and may be knee donation to the kneedy

It heats up rapidly if you are not in top gear and slower than 60kmph. if you are not stuck in bumper to bumper traffic,its bearable. In stop and go traffic,the hot air flows upwards and with riding gear,you can start sweating like wet sponge being squeezed.
But why would you think of riding it in shorts is beyond me. Save family and save kids, ride with gear!

Nah.. as I plan on giving up my CBZ and using the bike for office commute and around the house chores.. was wondering, as one cant wear gear all the time. Long rides of course without a doubt!.. may b I will just hang on to the ceebzz!

Shelton/ Victorz, It is ER - 6F that is coming soon. Checked and double checked and re confirmed. ER - 6N is no where on the rader
